Mission Accomplished Computer Destroyed.

Here's the hard and fast -
The C Drive has been getting fat on its own, so went on a search and destroy mission to free up space. Seems I may have deleted or messed with things I should not have....
NOW, objects (any files) on the desktop video files (MP4), audio files (mp3), etc - have a different look. Their names now include their file extension.
So, here's the crux.
Normally, you can right click on a file and get the properties. The Properties normally contain FOUR tabs (General, Details, Security and Previous Versions) -
BUT NOT ANYMORE! NOPE!
Properties now are General and Previous Versions that's it- THE IMPORTANT $#!T IS GONE! No Details Tab anymore!

I've already been through the main checklist in my frantic search for a solution - tell me what I already know before I nuke this thing from orbit with a factory reset.

You could image the OS & then play around with what's on there right now or, alternatively, install Shadow defender (30 day trial version) & play around with your setting in shadow mode.

Thank you - this problem has been solved.
It was a Registry File issue with my Windows 7.
Apparently, there is a control file which gives the Properties field the Security and Details Tab.
To better understand what I was facing, open the Run Command Prompt and type "Regedit"
It will present to you the genetic helix of your computer. Other than Bios (call it Brain Operations), the Registry contains all the files that make your computer what it is. If you disturb any of those folders/files you take a chance on turning your computer into a mongoloid (figuratively speaking).
Anyway, thank you Big Willy for your suggestions - I might have a look at that program you mentioned.
Thank you all.
Cheers.

It's a great, & rather unique, program that can add an extra layer of protection while surfing the net or allow for trouble free testing of a new program.
