I just went back and re-read. I think I mislead you. I saw Thumbtack and went dumb. ๐Ÿ˜„
I actually drive past the Thumbtack on 90th.... Which is Sandy still. I guess I didnโ€™t realize they had multiple locations. ๐Ÿ™„

One of my friends said he loved it. The other friend said she hated it. Both were customer service to start. Neither of them work there any more though.
Actually havenโ€™t heard from either of them in a good while. Iโ€™m so bad at staying in touch with people. ๐Ÿ˜…

I donโ€™t think they did. I remember having a small computer screen and the old Help struggled to look decent on that, never mind a handheld device!

And that makes sense! Especially at the high-teens low-twenties, you change so much each year to just skip 2 years it might take some time to figure out whatโ€™s going on. Iโ€™m glad you guys figured it out. ๐Ÿ˜Š

I was at a friendโ€™s wedding reception the other day! Same friend that works in the eye clinic, oddly enough! But she just got married to an RM. I get nervous- I feel like people rush to get married so quickly after their mission. Itโ€™s crazy. Iโ€™m glad you two had some time to figure your lives out and then get into a relationship first. Thatโ€™s smart. ๐Ÿ˜‰

And yeah- long distance sucks. Pretty sure thatโ€™s why my relationship ended with him. I think itโ€™s for the better though. Weโ€™ve grown into totally different people now- I donโ€™t know if things would have worked out, and the longer youโ€™re together the harder it is to get over. I used to be so emotional, but these days I feel like nothing can touch me emotionally. I feel the strongest Iโ€™ve ever been. So I enjoy being independent. ๐Ÿ˜Š

An ENT? (Ear, Nose, Throat) Iโ€™ve looked into a bit, but not much. I prefer joints and muscles rather than... canals? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I thought about being a surgeon, but Iโ€™ve got shaky hands.
And honestly this is all just conceptual. Iโ€™ve barely done any school myself. Just a semester now and then when I can afford it, and most of my schooling has been math/engineering so far before I decided to change directions. So donโ€™t be too impressed yet. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I enjoy where I am. My coworkers are cool. Not people I would hang out with outside of work, but I enjoy being around them at work. Drama is minimal most of the time. Patients are fun for the most part.

There isnโ€™t much room for growth for me, honestly. Maybe a shift manager or something. But Iโ€™ll need school to get anywhere else.

I hope you get that position!โ€™ I believe in you!! ๐Ÿ˜
And I love chatter boxes! I suck at talking to people, so it helps me. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Whaaaaaaat that is so crazy. A couple of people from my somewhat distant past are just driving around near me all the time haha

Yeah I've worked at Thumbtack for 3.5 years and I love it! I've never been happier with a job. It was important to get out of Customer Support eventually though, most of the people who leave just can't get out of that department and you can only manage to do it for so long.

Smart phones were only for rich people before my mission haha so maybe help worked on it but I wouldn't have known!

Haha well the problem with the first time my husband and I tried dating was a combo of him being stuck on his ex, me liking someone else and just wanting to date him for fun/to transition back to real life after the mission, and neither of us knowing who we were anymore(missions are confusing that way - you come home and you're not a missionary anymore but you're also not who everyone around you remembers from before your mission). And because we didn't know ourselves, we couldn't get to know each other, which just doesn't lead to good things. Also you have to be REALLY committed for long distance to work and we clearly didn't have that the first time. We figured it out eventually though!

Have you ever considered being an ear doctor whatever they're called? I'm sure thats just as much expensive schooling but it seems like not as many people go for it and it may be less crowded. Any way you go, I admire your dedication haha the schooling alone is intimidating to me! 9 years after I started it, I'm finally/only 78% done with my associate's degree! Lol

My husband is an EMT and he's considered going into nursing when he's ready to move on. He'd love working in an E.R. if he could. Seems like there are enough different avenues a nurse can take to switch things up, and it's flexible enough that it'd be good for a family so I support the idea. (Right now he works 24 hours at a time which is fine for now but might be hard with kids)

After working in a truly terrible hormone clinic, my main requirements for jobs are 1. It needs to be something you like or at the very least something that doesn't fill you with dread/despair/anger and 2. There needs to be room for growth. Right now my husband is happy at his job but there's not much room for growth so that's where the nursing comes in I guess!

I'm waiting to hear back about a position I interviewed for on Thursday and I'm a bucket of nerves about it. I've worked hard since January to try and get this position and I think I might be crushed if I don't get it ๐Ÿ˜ฃ but I'm up against really strong other candidates.

Here's hoping I've done enough and if not, that I'll survive!

Sorry! Life got busy. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Did the old help work on phones? Did phones even work to connect to the internet back then? Thatโ€™s weird to think about. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Thatโ€™s so cute!
What didnโ€™t work the first time? Was there no spark? How did that get rekindled? Iโ€™m glad things are going well. Thatโ€™s so good for you. ๐Ÿ˜Š You deserve happiness!

You work at Thumbtack?? Thatโ€™s crazy! I had 2 friends that worked there and I almost got a job there as well! I drive past it every day! Plus Iโ€™m pretty sure Rocco works down the street from there! But I want to work in the medical field and got a job offer at RPT in West Jordan. I mostly do front desk stuff, so donโ€™t work a ton with patients, but they let me handle the electro-stim occasionally. ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

Like I said- I want to go into the medical field. I donโ€™t know what yet. Physical Therapists are a dime a dozen these days so thatโ€™s probably not the smartest path, but I donโ€™t know. I actually looked into Dentistry for a bit. I applied at the Moran Eye Institute. Iโ€™ve got a friend that works at another eye place.

Maybe Iโ€™ll become a CNA or start looking into Nursing or becoming a paramedic. All of that costs so much money for school though. ๐Ÿ™„ So for now I take what I can get.

The rain makes me happy. I love just standing in it. But I hate being wet. But I love swimming.... ๐Ÿ˜… Yeah- itโ€™s a hard life. Clearly.

Haha I know, it's funny remembering being on the computer all the time and regularly checking Help! If I couldn't access it on my phone I probably would've showed up once then forgotten to ever come back haha

My husband and I met as missionaries, actually! We served in the same ward so we had dinner together every night and hung out a lot when we had free time. We developed a thing back then but when we both got home 6 months later we tried and miserably failed at a relationship! 3 years of being friends later, he developed feelings again and convinced me to give him another shot. It's been great ever since!

He lived in Virginia so we dated long distance 6 months then he moved out here because we were pretty sure we wanted to get married. We did in January of 2017, exactly a year after he told me he had feelings for me โค

I work for Thumbtack in Draper. It's great fun, I've been there for a few years now and I love it. What is it you do?

That's a bummer about the guy and about feeling stuck. Do you have any particular career path you're on? I've recently been taking on more responsibility at work any it has definitely helped me to feel like I'm contributing and accomplishing something

I love rainy days, too! Having lived in Arizona for so long, there's really no weather I dislike. I really enjoy the fact that the weather changes all the time here!

Yeah! I really donโ€™t get on the computer much. Itโ€™s nice that I can hop on with my phone though. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Oh cool! Weโ€™re neighbors! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I live up in Sandy in a little apartment off of 13th.
Whatโ€™s your job? Did he live here or move here with you? How did you guys get together?? I love hearing the falling in love stories! ๐Ÿ˜†

Life is alright. I feel very plateaud right now though. Like Iโ€™m stable, but not going anywhere or doing anything. Every day is the same. Every week is the same. Every month is the same.
Family seems to be doing well. Ups and downs here and there. Altogether alright. No crazy drama lately. My grandfather is having a really dangerous surgery on Wednesday though.
Yeah. The guy from Brazil moved away, got married, joined the air force. Lives in Texas now, I think. ๐Ÿ™„ That was rough for me for a few years. Still hurts now and then, but over all Iโ€™m over it.
Iโ€™m over love. Single for life, yes please! ๐Ÿ˜…

I loved the rain today! Rain always makes me feel calm and happy. Even if I show up to work like a cat that got dropped in the bathtub. ๐Ÿ˜‹

Oh my goodness, I can't even believe this! literally a week before I got the email about Help being back, I was telling my husband about how much it sucked that I had all these friends out there that I knew for years that I no longer had any way to contact! I'm seriously so happy to see everyone again. It's been long enough that I'm sure we're all pretty different, but it's great to reconnect!

Life has been simply amazing. I actually live in Utah, now! A job brought me here, and it's been so good to me for the last three and a half years. And of course I did get married and he's seriously the best. The exact right brand of weird for me lol ^_^

How is your life? Last you were really active on here, I remember you were struggling with your family and I think you were dating a guy from Brazil but there was some heartache there? This is all very old of course, but I'd love to hear how life went since then.
