Even so, this says the payout w/ that short change will be made up when you "quit/retire" im not counting dead cuz they dont get paid j/k.

BTW its not the first time its happened .. before about 3-4 yrs ago, the work period was "wed to tues".. then moved to " tues to Monday "

Aight man thanks for your input, i'll look more into the legality of this situation now that you gave me a much clearer picture. Consider this post closed

*bye bye 200~flies away*

is this legal? I was reading that *According to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), a workweek is a fixed period consisting of seven consecutive 24-hour periods, 168 hours in total. *

in that case the period change scrapped that last 24 hours :/

The lost day is practically banished in my ***pov. With what you're saying, I would have that missing 200 pay cut added to the following last pay totaling 1200, However I dont see that in there because once the new normal pay period resumes .. its still 1000k :/

thanks padre.. your spread sheet checks out! although, if the pay period never changed I would have been on a consistent pay of 1000 (make a new spreadsheet and see the difference) , in the end I would of been paid 4k.

What bugs me is with the period change.. the pay week has been skimmed off one day with the " period change " so i feel like im cheated 200 dollars from that time..and ended up with 3,8oo that month.

does that make sense??

lets say
week 2 I make 1000
week 3 with the new pay period I make 800
week 4-5-6 the new period resumes to normal and im back to 1000

where did the 200 go?

I forgot to mention payday is set on strictly fridays! that second week you lose that monday that came with the old pay period. thus your new pay starts on monday to sunday which means that week was accumulated starting monday the day was set back to the new pay period which was lost from the original start day on tuesday.

it seems like a financial math trick. .i dunno im missing something. .sorry ur piggy bank example does not really clear it up for me.
