(Actually- the problem was that it expected a space after [poll rather than a colon. But that's fixed now and you can do both. ๐Ÿ˜…)

It shows up as just [poll] in edit mode, is that intended?

That is intended, yes. Polls currently cannot be edited- due to the fact the poster would be able to technically change the votes that users have done. Do you recall how that was handled in the past, or, more importantly- can you think of a better method of handling it?

Do you have polls and votes tables?
If so, it might accept a limited form of adjustment - adding and removing options based on exact textual match to current options.

E.g:
- I start with a poll [a,b,c].
- People vote 5/7/3.
- I edit to add an option [a,b,c,d] -> Existing options retain their user vote counts, d starts with 0.
- Some other user votes d in the meantime.
- I edit, removing a -> 7/3/1, the 5 who voted a may re-vote (but no delete is performed).
- One of the 5 changes their vote to b (8/3/1). This upserts the table. Assuming vote changes are permitted, this could extend to anyone else too.
- I edit, re-adding a in the end -> 8/3/1/4.

Multiple polls could potentially be added through a poll id / seq key in both tables, including the number edit mode after poll keyword - that way, can change the order of the polls. Notwithstanding, too few polls to justify the feature, really.

What do you think?
How does it work in favourite replies, when someone's reply gets removed (and possibly re-added)?

By the way, finally found a query not containing helpqa where we're showing up, as the 3rd result no less:

Well, that was slightly underwhelming.

Sadly, most of my family isn't capable of this due to the amount of toxic people we seem to be related to. Family services know almost a dozen of us by name and background history...

Thank you for sharing this.
My mother stated at times her side of the family covered every kind of aberration save for murder, from polygamy to ra**. She and her many siblings grew up dirt poor and paternally orphaned at a young age, but they supported one other to adulthood and onwards.
My father's side had been all but exterminated, long ago.
Personally, I'm an advocate of accepting familial bonds where they find you, regardless of genealogy. Notwithstanding, aware of the apparent scarcity of considering one's choices in idealistic terms, and don't expect more of people than they're willing to give.

In any case, that's some grounds for a slingshot to fame through writing, rivalling the hemingways. :)

Just found this and had to share.

Thanks for sharing this humourous narration.
Having read grimm's fairy tales in depth, I can't help but wonder how parents can recite these fables with a straight face.
