God is a group of old ancient men and/or women sitting around a camp fire scared to die.

It's just a story to make us feel better and it caught on and grew. Now we go vote to effect others lives based on it.

Wow.

Lol.The universe it too huge to comprehend.
Than there is the multiverse.
We just dont know much .
I lean to something outside ourselves that put it all together.
That doesnt mean the creator cares for us.
It just means there seems to have been a design to everything.
No man really has the right definition of God.
It may be beyond our grasp.
I take the good from religi9n and dont get into semantics.
I think at the core of most religions is love.
Thats where it ends. The other stuff tends to divide us and take us to places I sure dont want to follow.
I personally am looking for truth.
I cannot seem to get it.
I wouldnt go on either side of beliefs.
Im just open to both sides and certainly can understand the frustration on both sides
My take.
We simply dont know.

I'm just worried the only truth that truth seekers will find in religion is that they've wasted their time or find themselves being accosted by folks who don't want their delusions challenged. "God" is just another word for collective submission.

If it were another word for love as you suggest, why is there so much hate? People have murdered in the past over this dumb ****shit. And I personally have had trouble making friends with people who let it rule their every decision and argument. It's really very psycho!

If there is any truth it is that we've got just one more thing to argue about and murder each other for. But it's really for nothing.

I just wish people would admit that they're doing what they do not for god but for themselves. It's a cop out. Just an excuse to be a piece of ****shit human being.

We don't really check our morality against a God's idea of morality we check it against our own and call it "Gods will" HA!

Why is there hate.
Well number 1 law-is if there is love there has to be hate.
We cannot escape duality.
I said at the core of all religions. Now the tangent humans took from the core and gave it a human spin of their own is what caused the discord.
You are right though.
Too much time seems to be wasted in believing and worshipping God that humans created or put their own spin on God.
Its just my perspective.

I don't think that we invented God because we were afraid to die, at least not in the sense I think that you mean it, and that a lot of other people mean it.

As if the cavemen were concerned about dying at a specific moment and had enough time to develop a theory of, not only an afterlife where good things may or may not happen, but also of some supreme being who took care of that afterlife.

It took a long time for the Abrahamic God concept to develop and catch on. And then people writing about it and arguing about it and articulating it more and more completely. A lot of that happened in the Middle Ages. Then Protestantism came along and varied the idea even more.

Before it came along, there was thousands upon thousands of different deities, so completely different from what we typically call God that we might hesitate to grace some of them with such a lofty title.

It is hard to say whether someone is doing something because of their religion, or using their religion as an excuse...it's something where you kind of have to look at the specific person and circumstance...certainly it happens that people use their religion as a rationalization for their perverse actions.
