Is this weird?

This blows my mind. My mom said it’s fate. I am in my 20’s and live at home while in school. So there is this girl who is/was in my class. She is very cute. Well, we were getting along good and talking in class but then the virus happened and now everything is shut down. I thought I wouldn’t see her for a while or ever again. The other day I was driving through my neighborhood and seen her walking down the street. I didn’t say anything. The very next day I had my bike out and as I was coming into the neighborhood there she was walking with a relative. I had to stop at the stop sign and I turned to look back because I was making sure I wasn’t hallucinating and as I turned back looking at her, she actually stopped walking and turned back to look at me. I made a u-turn and went up and talked to her. We talked for a few minutes but then I had to move because of traffic. I didn’t know she happened to live there but yes, she told me she lived down the road and since we have been in quarantine they have been walking. I haven’t seen her in 2 days. I would like to see her again. Is this weird? My mother keeps telling me we are meant to be. I don’t know if I believe all of that. This is just crazy to me.

I dont know how big your neighborhood or the area the school generally serves is, but its not really that crazy that she lives in the same neighborhood/area. That's kind of expected, that she would be residing in the area right? It is odd that you ran into her, a wonderful coincidence maybe? I don't know if I would call it fate. I just wouldnt jump to that conclusion if I were you. It might affect your future interactions, basing them on that assumption. I guess it all depends on what you believe in but I think there would have to be a lot more in common, like you both have dogs named Hank or something before you freak out, assume its fate and start planning the wedding. Even then, I think I would need more.

You're young with too many decades ahead for this to be fate.
And, what is fate? Things in common?
Do you like icecream? Me too!
Do you like soft and fluffy puppies and kittens? Me too!
Do you like horseback riding in splendid national parks on clear summer days? Me too!
You know, these hundreds of seconds we have shard are the deepest I've ever experienced with another person - the universe of fate must be calling us together....

Now it's clear what kind of mentality you must avoid here. Results from obsession never end well - never.

All you can do is enjoy the moment but never take it as a sign that a lasting bond has happened. Those signs show up after a year or more.
Meanwhile....just have fun. Ask her on a date.

I second the both posters.. Forget the fate, live in the moment. Ask her out and take it one day at a time. All the best x Let love flourish
