There are two possable problems.

1. Small, rechargeable batteries are like chewing gum. You can charge and recharge only for so long before all the flavor runs out - there's no getting it back. Hence, the charge the battery holds will never be as much.

2. The internal regulator of the device lo longer works properly. It may be shutting off the charge at 50% rather than the expected 100% instead.

My LG phone lives mostly on the charger because I need to get a new battery. At best, I get about 15 minutes of use from the battery that once gave me nearly 2 days.

Slowly, my battery has expanded to a point where it has pressed out the screen so I carefully drilled through the case with the tip of a sharp knife to release the trapped gas.
It was amazing to watch it deflate back to its original size and I was able to press my screen back into the frame.

These lithium ion batteries are pretty interesting, but they also have their own problems.

Fitbit has a web page to initiate a return back to them. You would have zero chance of returning it to Costco.

Anonymous #1 Are you the Orignal Poster? If not, you have no business saying what you did because you didn't bother helping the Poster with her problem - and that IS worthless.
Secondly, if you are the Orignal Poster, Soco gave you some basic information to start you in the proper direction. Further, there was nothing wrong when she asked how you found us.

Anonymous #2 you shouldn't be concerned when someone's being an a$$#0!#. Be more concerned with helping the Orignal Poster instead - it will save you a lot of grief.

I was hoping to hear from OP. She needed help for a fairly recent purchase. I'm just curious what search terms she used that led her here. Whatever it was it's slowly working!!

I hear you. It's too bad she didn't take that extra step and verify her account.
I seldom see a Poster returning if they don't bear a green person.

You did your best - many kudos.
