Maybe he just wanted an excuse to clear out the protesters. Though if someone got killed in the process, i wonder if he'd feel so spiritual.

It matters to some of them, I'm sure.

Also, this type of thing gives the lie to the president caring even a tiny bit about what happened in Minnesota.

They need to prove it in November! He's destroying our country. ...SMH

Strictly speaking, yes. But it matters how phony they are and what they are phony about.

Handshaking and kissing baby foreheads? Very phony but harmless.

To a religious person who thinks voting against a democrat is somehow stemming the tide of atheism in the country, being phony about your spirituality is less than harmless.

To me, i couldn't care less since a politicians religiosity doesn't matter to me. But it does matter to me in the sense that i'll have to live with trump for another four years if religious types take the gesture seriously.

I'm agnostic myself, but I respect everyone's right to believe what they choose. Some of the nicest, most honest, people I know are atheists. Trump is completely disingenuous, and it doesn't seem he believes in anything but himself. The dude, and his supporters, are seriously damaged!

Also agnostic here, at least intellectually. I have this thing where I still identify with Christianity a lot, on an emotional level and sometimes I'll even pray, especially now where I do pray every so often as hard as I can that Trump will lose.

It can't hurt, right?

Of course not, and I'm all for whatever gives people comfort, as long as it isn't hurting anyone. โค๏ธ
