Election Update and Plea

This is all stuff you can get from the internet, but someone said people should post, so...

It looks like Democrats have clinched to keep the House.

Republicans will most likely (like better than 80 percent chanceish) keep the Senate. Only Georgia still outstanding there with 2 races and they lean Republican. Dems would have to win both and the Presidency to get the Senate.

Edit: In Alaska there is still an outstanding race but it is unlikely for the Democrat to win.

And Biden will most likely win the Presidency.

At this point, if all current counting and tabulation stopped, Biden would win. Furthermore, the majority of counts still outstanding are mail-ins, and the majority of those are mail-ins from Democratic leaning counties.

The exception to that rule is Arizona, which (although it has been called by AP and Fox News for Biden) has mail-ins coming from toss-up districts. If Trump wins those outstanding votes by a big enough margin (it could be less than 60-40) he might just barely win AZ.

The odds of that happening are quite small though, he's most likely too far behind to catch up, which is why AP called it. And even if he wins AZ, he has to practically win every other state currently in play.

At this point Biden just has to keep AZ and win NV (which he is ahead in).

My main message here is: your fellow Americans have the right to vote.

Realize this: It may come out that in AZ there are more Republican mail in votes than Democrat, as that state has a comparatively more robust tradition of mail ins and is a historically red leaning state. The point being mail in is not Democratic con.

In order to fake a mail in vote you need to vote for someone else. You can't just make up a name, thats why you have to register to vote. Every vote is matched to a person in the registry.

Meaning your risking the chance that A. That person did not already vote and won't vote in the future, B. Was not purged from the voter roll/never registered in the first place and C. That you won't get caught by the security checks in place to prevent fraud.

And even if all that aligned correctly, you need to have the relevant voting information for that person to even attempt it in the first place. And you'd have to get that info for THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of people for it to even have a small chance of making a difference. And your risking serious legal consequences to do it with little prospect of direct monetary gain.

Not only that, but we know that millions of people voted by mail this year. Any assumed fraud aside, we know that millions of people did. If we decided not to count mail ins, their votes would be invalidated with the fradulent (of which there are probably very few or none).

Democracy, such as it is, is working. I was hoping for a landslide against Trump and I am bitter that there was not. But i will accept the results even if Trump squeaks out a victory.

This country's purpose is nullfied if we do not respect the vote. There have been many major votes that have come down to a small number of ballots. Any one of them could have involved fraudelence. But we always accept the vote, even if we don't like the outcome.

I hope that you all will encourage your friends and family to respect the outcome, regardless of the outcome and who wins. Tensions are too high in the country. The temperature in the room needs to be lower, not higher. Don't share inflammatory rhetoric that is not based in fact. Respect your fellow Americans.

As results have trickled in throughout the day, Trump's odds odds of winning are smaller. He has gained some ground in AZ but still more than likely to lose. NV is approaching callable for Biden. That is all Biden needs for the win.

Additionally, Trump is in danger of losing in Georgia. He is less than a percentage point up and that margin is shrinking with each round of ballots that comes in.

And the overarching fact is that, as mail-ins are counted in PA, Biden is more than likely to pull ahead. And he can lose everything else if he wins PA.

There is some controversy about the AP calling Arizona so early. Trump is unlikely to win the state at this point but it is far from impossible.

And its clear at this point that Trump will lose NV.

That means that the national race should be callable if you have called AZ.

But now we're in a foolish situation where the AP is reluctant to call NV because the state they already called, AZ is the actual state in doubt.

In other words the Associated Press called AZ too early so now they either have to uncall it or take a chance and declare Biden the winner.

Just dumb media stuff for you.

It's not so much intentional "Dragging on" as much as a natural part of the process because many states have laws against counting mail-in or early vote ballots before Election Day.

Actually another take that I just heard which makes sense to me is that the only reason why the race hasn't been called for Biden yet is because of Trump.

PA is the state that makes it kinda of a done deal. Trump is currently "ahead" but the remaining counties to be counted are so proportionately Democrat it's basically impossible that Biden won't make up the ground he needs to win.

But it's the last state. And Trump has an (illusory) lead.

And the President is saying that the votes are fraudulent.

If it was called now, while Trump was still ahead, there would be a backlash saying that the media was trying to steal the election, and it's likely the so-called President would stoke that backlash as much as he could. So they have to play games.

There have been many major votes that have come down to a small number of ballots. Any one of them could have involved fraudelence. But we always accept the vote, even if we don't like the outcome.¬ ¬ I hope that you all will encourage your friends and family to respect the outcome, regardless of the outcome and who wins. Tensions are too high in the country. The temperature in the room needs to be lower, not higher. Don't share inflammatory rhetoric that is not based in fact. Respect your fellow Americans.
