Thanks! :) I think the lesson here is that - people with different opinions than yours aren’t bad. Sometimes I fall into that “you’re either with me or against me” mentality too :/ I have to catch myself when I’m starting to lean towards that.

It's a shame it's so difficult to have conversations like that while staying civil.

I can personally see both sides of the discussion and agree with neither, but I know people who avidly fight for each side, and I have nothing but respect for the people that can do so without hurting those that they disagree with.

You were able to contribute to the discussion without attacking, which is something nobody else was able to do- so I'd call that helpful in my book! 😄

That conversation got very heated, very quickly.

I’m used to having people around me with different opinions. My husband would have sided with Al on that one. It’s difficult to keep this topic of discussion civil.

I didn’t say much, but I don’t think I helped either. I think it had gotten to a point where nothing I could say would be helpful to the conversation.

I think you were right to shut it down before it completely spiraled out of hand.

I would like to point out- I appreciate that you did not participate in the attacks on either side of that post.

Each person is entitled to their own opinions, and we all have our own perspectives on different matters. There is absolutely nothing wrong with providing information as long as it can be done so in a civil and neutral manner. 😊

That will be an option in the near future. Just working out a few permissions things stopping a user from reopening a post closed by a Mod.

But for now, you can always shout a mod and they can close your post for you, if you desire. :)
