Everyone is extremely grateful for this 'resurrection' as it were.

Youโ€™re all very kind. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Iโ€™ll see what I can do to get a donate button added soon! Iโ€™ve been more pre occupied with more important features and making the site a more pleasant experience (like fixing that silly link preview) but a donate button should be pretty quick and easy. Iโ€™ll toss it up tonight after work!

Thank you everyone. ๐Ÿ™

Not sure if anyone is interested but the original Help started in 1999.

I joined around 06/07, I believe. Hard to remember. Help got me through so many things, and honestly- the biggest help was the community here just being friendly and accepting, more than just answering my posts when I needed help. The friends and memories I made here will stick with me forever. :)

Although I've never met anybody from Help in real life (Except 1, but I knew her in person before she joined so it doesn't count) I still consider them true friends of mine who I owe my life to. Those are the ones that got me motivated to take this project on.

I plan to keep this up as long as possible, but it's a community driven site. The old Help was around for nearly 10 years before many of us found it (Except Ralph. He's been around since forever, apparently)- which just goes to show that it may take some time before there is a constant stream of users that are finding us and posting.

To keep the site alive, the best thing we can all do is stick around as long as we can and help each and every person that comes to our doorstep. If we can maintain that great community, Help will survive.

What do you honestly think would happen if the help community actually met in person?

Weโ€™d all sit quietly. And awkwardly try to socialize with each other.
Iโ€™m pretty sure at least 85% of us is socially inept to some degree. ๐Ÿ˜„

Question number 2, guys...as said in a post yesterday...

The obvious choice of course is this place.

@Rockster160 if we ever meet you in person you are going to turn 50 shades of lipstick.

Everything in life is worth it, in my opinion. The struggles make us stronger and appreciate the good times. The good times bring us satisfaction.
I just don't like having down time. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Nope. It's currently owned and operated by me- an individual with no relation to any company in regards of the site.

Art lessons.

Not an artist, but when I have mental blocks or want to improve a skill in some way, I think of a project/goal to try to accomplish that uses the skill.

Need to get better at fine detail? Paint a tree, where each individual leaf is drawn with detail.
Need flow? Draw a scene with water. Doesn't have to be the focus, but it should be an attention point.

So I've started writing a new thing...

Hm. This scene feels to me like a group of kids who have grown up on earth and recently arrived on the new planet. They talk about Earth with a familiarity that is very unlikely they would have if they had never been there.

Assuming "prox day" is the holiday marked by the inhabiting/landing of Proxima.
I think of history class in the US, talking about something like Independence Day. Whenever it comes around, all of the history classes focus on it, discuss it, etc- but they recite facts and discuss how/what came to be- it's not a personal recollection, but rather a statement.

Also- it's unlikely the kids (especially somebody like the ***POV character- who seems bored by the subject and day dreams during class) would have such an easy time recalling these facts with such precise detail without rehearsing/studying very recently.

Used to be better at formulating my thoughts to words, but struggling now. ๐Ÿ˜…

What's the best way to deal or accept people disliking you as a result of ignorance?

I usually just laugh and shrug off any negativity that type of person throws my way. Even if they're insulting or do/say things that are quite hurtful. Just pretend that everything they say is funny and brush it off. Don't let them hurt you.

Didn't the Most Recent Posts column used to be two different colors or something?

It still does for me. New posts are blue and unseen ones are purple. It could be a browser issue? If you're using a private browser or otherwise clearing your history, then your visited links won't show up that way any longer.
