What do you honestly think would happen if the help community actually met in person?

Would we all get along or would we regret meeting in person? Keep in mind we create the characters we meet online. We give them personalities based on an evaluation on the information we read on the screen. Basically we create these characters in our own mind. So what do yall think. Wpuld we all get along or would it be a major disapointment?

Sure, we'd all get along. Until somebody farts. Than chaos...

Weโ€™d all sit quietly. And awkwardly try to socialize with each other.
Iโ€™m pretty sure at least 85% of us is socially inept to some degree. ๐Ÿ˜„

I suppose that each of us would speak to the helpers that we WANT to talk to and totally ignore any others. I've seen it here. I have no intention of ever judging anyone for anything...but just accepting each person for who they are and for what they bring to the HELP table. But in answer to your inquiry, I'd hope that we would all just get along like a loving family, and have a BLAST.

I think that I would love to meet everyone in person. But I would need to get to know some on here better and build some more trust.
I do think that over time, you can get a pretty good sense about who a person is online, based on consistency in their replies. But it is true that a person can hide, enhance, or change aspects of themselves sitting behind a screen.
I have been on other online sites, though, and I think I feel the freest to be who I really am on help. Fb is all positive... other sites skew personalities, too; help is encompassing while other sites focus on one aspect (political, Christian, etc....whatever the site is "about.")

What I would have said.
Regardless of the (circles), we would first need to log in to Help to get through the assembly.

I've met some and can say that it is possible to formulate a pretty good idea of who and what someone is like or all about, depending on your own assertiveness.

There is a whole bunch of people I would still like to meet. Some of them would most likely be very surprised. When I felt down and in need of help, I did not always post or reached out, just read replies to existing posts, so even though I did not personally interact with many, I would still like to extend a 'thank you' to those who unbeknown to them pulled me through tough times.

But the other 15% of us are not ๐Ÿ˜Š. Sure we will be able to get something rolling.

So its settled... We will all meet at a bowling alley at a neutural location equal distance for everyone, say the east coast of Russia.

Thereโ€™s an activity Iโ€™ll attend! ๐Ÿ˜„
Not sure about Russia though. Pretty sure our average location is the middle of the ocean, thanks to our UK users. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Yup. That's me to a T.

I'd be the cowering figure in the far corner of the room, trying not to draw attention to my presence, attempting to avoid having a panic attack by focusing on my phone, and sneaking out for cigarettes every 15 minutes.

Or, I'd try to combat my nerves by getting seriously drunk, which would result in me talking far too much and bursting into tears of "I love you, why won't you love me?!?"

And then I'd be reminded of why I shouldn't drink in front of anyone except for my parents, and my dog.

You drink in front of your parents...? Like why!? I think I can speak for most of the drinkers here - we drink to forget our parents for like 2,3 hours.

I don't! But still- would NOT drink in front of my parents... That gets awkward. ๐Ÿ˜„

My parents and I are close, but they're pretty much my only friends, too. At least, ones that I see more than once or twice a year. I don't make a plan to drink while they're visiting, they just sort of show up in the middle of it, or my mom and I get on Skype and we ramble on for hours and watch movies together.

I hardly ever drink.... a couple times a YEAR, I will have a glass of wine.
I have never drank alcohol in front of me teetotaler parents/grandparents.
I'm married w/4 kids and my parents are joining us for part of a vaca....one night, we were going to eat at a fancy restaurant and I was going to have a glass of wine. I told my mom this. She shrugged and didn't say anything. Guess I will gauge the mood at the time ๐Ÿ˜‚

I better have a glass of wine that night, to be able to deal with the craziness that they create!

I rarely drink (maybe once every few months) but when I do itโ€™s with the intention of getting drunk, otherwise whatโ€™s the point? ๐Ÿ˜„

There would HAVE to be some booze involved, the more the merrier, or some sort of 'mood enhancer'.

Lol... same here. But in a responsible way. And since I do it so rarely, 1 1/2 glasses of wine will have me snockered.

Despite how rarely I drink, I'm quite the heavy weight. I outdrink pretty much everyone. (Outside of my brother- but he's borderline alcoholic, lives on the stuff. ๐Ÿ™Must be in the blood. ๐Ÿ˜‰) I wish I could get tipsy more easily. That's where the fun begins!
(I don't condone drinking irresponsibly. Know your limit and stick with it.)

I don't drink much, but I'd share a beer or a shot with some of the people in this place, just kicking back and talking. That sounds very ideal.
