I'm not sure how I would cope if my friend dies ๐Ÿ˜ข

"We are in severe crisis right now, in danger and in need of your help.

I have a feeling that every single layer of problems that are happening right now can be solved with the right support from the right people and right, clear action. In fact, I know that this is true. If you can help, please do.

1. We need an Air conditioner. We've been without AC for 4 months in Florida. I am severely ill and disabled and my parents are elderly, frail and both have dementia. This is dangerous for us. (We have applied for assistance through the city, have been denied, have appealed and are waiting.)
2. We need remediation for water/mold damage from a pipe leak on the side of our house (Estimated cost $15,000) and our insurance carrier is ending our policy in the middle of hurricane season because we have not remediated because we don't have the money to pay for it. (We have been seeking legal counsel but have made little progress because of too many other layers happening at once.)
3. I need a cell phone to submit caregiving hours for the new app. (A friend is donating one, hopefully it will work with the app. If is doesn't work and you have a cell phone that you don't want, please consider passing it along to me.)
4. Loss of caregiving hours because of a medicaid glitch in July that we have had to pay out of pocket. Estimated loss in the ballpark of $1500. (I have a hearing to appeal this and hopefully get reimbursed.)
5. Loss of caregiving hours ongoing starting this week, so that we are in danger of not getting basic human needs met: cooking, cleaning/sanitization, pill management, other specific basic tasks related to my disability that are essential for me to not be paralyzed that I cannot explain briefly. (I am going to appeal this and try to get both hearings to be combined into one.)
6. Once we solve #5, I will need to hire a new caregiver to replace one of my current caregivers that is leaving in two weeks.

What can you do to help?
If the appeals do not work for caregiving hours, we are going to need volunteers to help us cook meals and clean. Maybe some of you might be open to volunteering in such a way? Like a few hours per week kind of thing? If you are open to volunteering, please let me know specifically what you are open to helping with.

If you are local and have connections with local govt, maybe you can connect me in such a way that we can get additional support/encouragement regarding the appeal for the AC. It seems like the mold remediation is also something that could be helped by this sort of connection.

I need help putting together a new fundraiser to cover these issues in case that any of them cannot be sorted through the other means that we have applied for. Might any of you be available to help with a fundraiser?

She is such a brave inspiring caring person with such such a beautiful heart.

This could kill her. She needs care to keep her alive.
I've seen how poorly she can get. She's only recently started to regain something that resembles a quality of life and now this is going to take that away again.

And she's gonna end up fighting for her life again. She used to get seizures and risk or stopping breathing. How is she gonna stay away live if that happens again and no one is there?

And her parents are very old and frail who she lives with. I think they both have dementia. I don't think they can take care of themselves let alone her.

Her mam used to but it became too much and now her mam forgets how to cook too.

Jetmoo, tell your friend to call the local Salvation Army. They often have a long list of places that offer help with those kinds of problems, and can probably help her find at least some of the stuff she needs.
