Can coworkers tell if there is something going on between two people before they even realize it?

I ask because the past couple of weeks it seems like my coworkers have been saying stuff to me about another worker. I play it off because I’m just like they’re silly. Me and this guy have been working a lot. We basically work the same days and same hours. I mean, we don’t make the schedule our boss does. Well, me and this guy joke a lot. He does seem to tease me. But honestly I haven’t thought much about it. Or thought about him in a romantic way. Well, I noticed one of our coworkers told us that there’s a lot of tension between us. And then he wasn’t there yesterday and they told me I’m more talkative when he’s there. Like are they seeing something I haven’t realized yet? Or are they thinking we like one another? I feel like I act the same around him as I would with anyone else. I don’t know. And then one of the upper management members even gave us a name. Like they made a nickname made up of our first names. Am I missing something here? lol.

So long as the work gets done and no rules are broken then what's the problem?

Just let them get on with it....

I used to have a friend who got along with and he was a boy and when people were silly saying we fancied each other type thing it made him not want to be my friend anymore.

We were kids but not the point. Shame I lost my friend cos of other people.

Just be yourself don't let other people knock ur confidence.

Maybe this guy likes u or like likes u but he's not hurting anyone and neither are you.

Some people are just nosey. I think everyone have certain people who they get along better with sometimes and I don't think there's anything wrong with that

There's nothing acceptable with this situation.
A lot of improper assuming.
A lot of improper labeling.

They've already got your future planned. Have you two named your first child yet? Sounds like typical office gossip to me, but yeah everyone sees you two having fun together. That's what's up...

Meh this happens where i work all the time. If you don't feel anything towards this person then what everyone is saying doesn't matter.
