humanity is a disgusting plague and can't hold a candle to covid-19.
this disgusting sick f**** up species deserves what it gets.
if you feel most doctors aren't murdering their patients on purpose, then you can conclude that almost as many deaths occur from mere negligence alone. 136,000 people died accidentally because of medical negligence alone in 2014.
some of us are better at war than others. we've lost over a million and killed even more.
Of the past 3,400 years, humans have been entirely at peace for just 268 of them, about 8 percent of recorded history.
At least 108 MILLION people were destroyed in wars in the twentieth century.
Estimates for the total number killed in wars throughout all of human history range between 150 million to 1 BILLION. WWII is estimated to have caused a population deficit of more than 20 million human lives.
Statistically between 65-85 percent of the American public will support a military action when it begins.
More than 650,000 Americans have been killed in combat. Another 243,000 have died due to training accidents.
American armed forced typically cause 10 to 20 times more combat casualties than American forces suffer. We've murdered anywhere from 1,500 to 100,000 in the Gulf War. 850,000 Vietcong died in Vietnam. More than 600,000 North Koreans and 1 million Chinese fighters died in the Korean War.
We spend at least 350 BILLION per year on our military budget. Roughtly 15-30 percent of each year's total federal budget. $350 BILLION to over a TRILLION spent on the military compared to 60 billion on education. Not to even mention the multiple attempted genocides.
And we're closed because of some covid-19 LOL!
What this is, is not a fear of covid-19. It's a fear of anything be added on top of a house of cards that's already ready to topple under our own weight of BS.

I agree.
I would add that we destroyed paradise. We need 5 g. We dont care about other species. We kill
Kill kill kill.
So nature sent a virus to now kill us.
Karmas a b itch.
They are more worried about 5 g and the sick greed that goes with it. So sick.
We are getting what we deserve.
Some of us are innocent. But nature dont care about innocent.
The species is a threat to the planet and now its going to wipe us off.
I pray the earth will heal from all the damage humans caused
Never again...

eh we've been through plagues before. it didn't kill us all then it probly won't kill us all now lol. we're a resilient murderous species.

well don't freak out yet. this is still about the same mortality rate (given with the social restrictions) as the seasonal flu. from what i understand it just hangs out longer making it a bit more virulent.
...and can kill you faster.
but when comparing statistics it still hasn't damaged us as bad yet.
considering how dangerous we are, what's the biggest global pandemic, the virus or us? lol
Closing thing is really purely pragmatic. If you're goal is to prevent people from dying.
Let's say 1000 people die of the flu every year (I don't know if that's true, just saying for the sake of argument). It's bad, but we don't close down the economy for it.
Now let's say you're the governor and I came up to you said "Hey, guess want, I'm gonna go "boop" and now ANOTHER thousand people are gonna die."
Now are you gonna make the cold blood decision and say "Oh well, we can't shut down the economy for a 1000 people."
I think the shocking thing about all this is the actual humane concern most politicians are showing here. It would have been easy for them to push things the other way and say "Eh, 1000 people dead, but what about that stock market chaps?" And have a poop eating grin.
The other cynical stuff about "humans being the real virus" is a sentiment I am sympathetic to, but I would point out that it shouldn't stop us from not wanting to die....

The seasonal flu, not the spanish flu pandemic, not some rare mutation flu....the flu that we can get every year killed this many people according to https://www.health.com/condition/cold-flu-sinus...
"This season CDC estimates that, as of mid-March, between 29,000 and 59,000 have died due to influenza illnesses."
Followed up with:"So while the flu has long been considered a dangerous seasonal scourge, new data on the COVID-19 epidemic underscore a frightening fact: COVID-19 is even deadlier."
We actually have TWO strains of flu we deal with every year since H1N1 became a thing making the flu season last longer.
Now everything you said makes sense. I'm just adding some figures for your logic.
And subsequently wondering why anyone is surprised they wouldn't shut down the economy for between 30 and 60 thousand deaths a year.
Coldblooded at 1000? What do you think of that? LOL
You got a Bible handy? Dust it off and crack it open. Read it. Just a paragraph at a time. Then go back and read it out loud. Then one more time to make sure just a wee bit sinks in. Because it will. Repeat for 2 weeks straight. After that you can go back to calling me a dumb-***ass motherfucker. Coming from you it's a compliment.

I have studied it. To a moderate degree. Certainly read it. And I don't recall calling you a dumb-***ass motherfucker. ...I mean odds are... but truth is I don't totally know you well enough to make that kind of judgement. If you're feeling singled out by the original post well, your feelings may be justified if it's all your fault. But I don't recall blaming you either. Unless you're one of the careless murderous humans. Why does pointing out the amount of murders humans have committed on each other vs. how many deaths a plague has caused hit such a nerve with you? It's all relative and depends on how fast and how largely it spreads of course, but still...I don't understand. Perhaps you should read my original post again because it shouldn't really have been taken personally by anyone. I mean I guess unless you're a murderous human. But that's of course speculation because I don't know and I don't know why you think I called you anything at all lol
This post is about mere statistics. o.O
