Gift for a 3 year old that is "different"

Any ideas? I got a niece. She has toys. Maybe something a bit more interesting than that or a special kind of toy.

How about something practical like a bank account. She can withdraw from it up to a set spending limit every month, say $15 to $20. She must donate a portion to a charity first though. She gets to decide all expenditures. She can choose a Salvation Army kettle or just some homeless person living on the street. Later she can use it to start saving for college.

If she buys a lot of candy she might want to save towards the Dentist's bill.
