hows everyone in the UK finding the snow?

Haha! I'm in Utah- "The Greatest Snow on Earth" (Refers to the ski-slopes, but eh.)

Breaking 12 inches here is where stuff usually starts to get problematic. Under that is just snowy play time. ๐Ÿ˜„

Hahaha...same. I've lived all over Colorado and growing up in the mountains, I have seen snowstorms dump over 2 feet, and in the mountains, things (school, college, businesses) NEVER close for snow.

Here in Northern Colo., it is more about wind and spring floods from the mountain runoff. But it has been unusually warm this year. And NO snow yet

I don't know a lot of the people here.

I remember you from the old site. Loved your upfront point of view on things. You had tons of friends, though, and prob really never knew who I was.

Pepperjelly was the old moniker

Who would win the fight?

I would have to go with Jesus. No real reason except that he is victorious at the end of the Book...

How close do you relate to your ethenicity?

It seems like everyone is moving to Colorado. This used to be a relatively quiet, sporty state where a majority loved the outdoors. Now we have so many who don't assimilate. Getting crowded here, for real.

And all those outdoor spots.... they are getting trashed. For the first time in forever, lots of peoole are vandalizing hiking trails, etc.
And one trail we used to hike now has a 3 hour wait to begin the ascent... AFTER you've made a reservation!

And its costing $45 vs $5 to get into national park land... guess they need more employees to manage the influx of people (and their garbage)

I live in the lakes, so our year round population is pretty low compared to the rest of the country, but we get a LOT of visitors, mainly city dwellers, and a lot of them bring their city ways here, they park like bell ends, they leave litter everywhere, they lack respect and you can normally spot one a mile off.
And all through summer it's swarming with people.
It's difficult to find solitude in the mountains with so many others around.

I had set out to go up England's highest mountain this August.
I got to the bottom of it, looked up and saw a snake of people going up and down.
I turned round, jumped in the car and went somewhere else.

Hm. Well, when I travel internationally, I will def visit the lakes! And certainly stay north. You'd certainly spot the loud, rowdy Americans from a mile off! But I love the earth and respect mother nature. So I won't trash it ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Would you rather be intelligent and live a lifetime being poor or be not that academic and be wealthy for life?

I find questions like this difficult to answer without clarification: HOW "not academic", HOW rich, HOW poor? I also assume that the poor+smart choice leaves you at your current intellect?

I value intellect much more than I value money.

However, I value family more than I value intellect. If I don't have the ability to provide for my family, at least to the point of making it by (Food on the table, shelter over their heads, etc) then I would sacrifice my intellect in order to give them comfortable lives without question.

I was also homeless and hungry for a couple stints in my life. Being that poor sucks. Though I got through it, it has always been a fear.

1. The thought of homeless with kids is terrifying

2. The thought of being homeless as an older person is also terrifying

Sometimes I really over think things. Not sometimes. All the time. I have advanced degrees and have been able to use my intelligence for many things. I've created things, used it to "move ahead," and used it to help raise my kids in a smart way... making me a really good mom (heart plus smarts).

But as I said, I overthink things. I'm unable to put my analytical self aside and just have fun! I worked 3 jobs all through my 20's and used the money wisely (house, invested). Yet today, I find myself counting pennies...

So dumb and rich all the way. I would love to have FUN
