I have people to whom I'd like to respond, but I also have people where I live reminding me there is much for me to do before the sun sets.

Beautiful and tear *******jerking to read in your profile that you feel Alice with you always and that she was nagging you to say you like hockey. Big hugs to you.

I have 4 kids and couldn't imagine life without them. I've been fortunate to be able to mostly stay home with them over the years... and home school them, but next year, my husband retires and it will be my turn to work.

I have a son, age 16 1/2, who just got his driver's permit today (yikes)..... a daughter who just turned 15.....a son who is 12 1/2....a son who turned 6 a couple weeks ago.

And like Big Al said, be sure to take care of real life before playing around on here.

To reply on a post, just start typing where it says, "post a reply."

To reply to someone else's prevuous reply on a post, click on the little quotation marks to the right of their name in the box that you want to reply to.

To ask someone to be your friend, click on the plus sign on the little blue guy next to them.... same if someone has asked you to be their friend and you would like for that to happen.
If you think someone'a reply is n.a.u.g.h.t.y in any way, click on the flag to the right of their name in said reply.
To snoop on people, click on their picture and look at what they have made public in their profile.
To send a message to an individual, click on the megapbone next to their name. Know this is NOT PRIVATE and can be read by anyone.
And in saying that^^^^^ ... if you have lots of time to waste, you can also read comments or conversations of one user to another by clicking on the megaphone and then clicking on "shout trail."
If you do get a shout (or semi private message) from another user, be sure that when you reply back to them, you click on "shoyt trail," or you will shout to yourself and they will not know you have sent a reply (don't worry: all of us have done this regularly)
Finally, if you want to be in a conversation, click on the thread title. When people reply within thar convo, there will be a little number next to "notices" and you click on that to display the titles of the threads of convo you are in. Click on a title to follow the convo

It was over a decade before I got another pet after my immature collie died. I got him when I was 5 and he died when I was 21. To this day he visits me in my dreams.
But, along the way I found a lady who bred miniature dachshunds. I picked the runt female of the bunch (always the runt) and she was the most loving and warm dog I had since my first. If I had any suggestions it would be: get the girls and get the mini's - if possible the runt.

It's that type of loving relationship that I want...the kind you had with your immature collie and then your dachshund....

Great advice, thanks. Still a couple years off, but I've purchased 2 big books off Amazon about "Dog Breeds," and I dream...

I really, really wish I could have pets. Never had a pet in my life, so I can't relate, really.

But, I've been getting allergy shots for a year, now....and after "3-6 years," I should be "80% allergy free...."

I'm going to get a german shephard, a dalmation, and a weiner dog...because all 4 of my crazy kids want a weiner dog :)
