Can't really help you. I have some wild animals of my own trying to follow me everywhere. Paparazzi mostly.

That's a long way to walk for a cat. Poor thing....

I really, really wish I could have pets. Never had a pet in my life, so I can't relate, really.

But, I've been getting allergy shots for a year, now....and after "3-6 years," I should be "80% allergy free...."

I'm going to get a german shephard, a dalmation, and a weiner dog...because all 4 of my crazy kids want a weiner dog :)

It was over a decade before I got another pet after my miniature collie died. I got him when I was 5 and he died when I was 21. To this day he visits me in my dreams.
But, along the way I found a lady who bred miniature dachshunds. I picked the runt female of the bunch (always the runt) and she was the most loving and warm dog I had since my first. If I had any suggestions it would be: get the girls and get the mini's - if possible the runt.

It's that type of loving relationship that I want...the kind you had with your immature collie and then your dachshund....

Great advice, thanks. Still a couple years off, but I've purchased 2 big books off Amazon about "Dog Breeds," and I dream...

I got a cat from the shelter early this year.

She is really loving and affectionate.

I don't know her back story, I'm fairly sure she was hit as whenever she bites when playing she cowers immediately thinking I'm going to hit her.

She sleeps with me every night.
She hates all other people.

I think cos she was a rescue cat she is more appreciative of the life she has now
