AI is actually pretty cool.

Ai isn't great with fingers (though funnily enough natural looking fingers are challenging for a lot of people to draw - I imagine that's why so many cartoons only have 4 and check out the fingers on a lot of web comics).

It's also very much a garbage in garbage out thing. Ai isn't true intelligence. It just good at parsing information.

As far as the traffic thing, that might not be the worst thing in the world imo. We're a world oversaturated with ads and click bait is a huge problem with people creating deceiving pages or headlines to get ad views and make money.

I've asked it for help finding old books I remember from my childhood.

I'm on the fence about it. I like the idea of a supercomputer able to search all the world's libraries and such for answers to all kinds of questions, but I'm against coding for any kind of agency or self-aware behavior. I've never been a big believer in the climate change narrative, but believe if it hasn't been a human-caused problem in the past, it certainly will be now we're tearing up our pristine farmland to install solar and wind farms to power data centers that require more energy to run than what is used by the entire rest of the state. Why did I spend half of my life being told to drive less, use less water, recycle, etc.? All this while being openly warned it is likely to cause the extinction of humanity -and possibly all the life on the planet. Why have we spent so much time, energy and money looking for life on other planets while killing the life on this one?

IDK...but...yeah, it's fun to ask it for help finding info that otherwise seems impossible to get.

Its really good at getting a direction in research - it can provide an overview of a field or basic arguments for a position, summing up information from numerous sources in a short, easy to digest format.

A good AI platform will provide the sources for the info it's providing so you can follow up on it yourself.

It's not going to solve complicated social issues on its own, that is for sure.

I'm in love with someone, and I feel she's gradually falling in love with me.

That's great, I guess. Hope things work out.

If not it will be fine.

How do you stay ambitious?

Good question.

For me, it's about wanting stuff for the people i love and wanting my life to have some sort of meaning. For me, myself, i don't need much and I don't feel i need to compete with the neighbors.

Well what I was wondering is what other social media websites do people know of?

Idk, was snapchat like that? I never used it so idk.

I think twitter is adding more options like that but they definitely suggest stuff.

I think any free service that has all those options is gonna have ads. Someone's gonna run the system and pay for the server space.

That said I never used social the way you're wanting to, so ive never really looked.

Edit: i just thought of whatsapp. Its phone only i think. You can definitely do video and voice on it but not really "social media' from what i gather.

It's up to YOU. If you want to try to continue it, ask the others what they think and decide what to do from there. Stick with the same group? Start another group of your own? If you don't want to continue, let someone else take the helm and find yourself another hobby.

Im thinking along these lines too.

Does anyone here understand how to calculate interest?

Thanks. I found similar explanations online but needed a human to explain it to me.

it's intersting....when you hear interest percentages, it intuitively makes it sound like its some percent of your loan....but its more like just a number that goes into a formula. Its not really a percent of anything.

Life sucks.

The stress and weight of financial insecurity is one of the hardest things while also being one of the things many people have the least sympathy for.

Hoping you catch a better break sometime soon.

From my circle of friends men are done with relationships including me.

If you truly are, great.

Personally i would never be "done with relationships." Im not brad pit so women aren't falling over themselves at me. And im not interested in being celibate. Besides, relationships are pretty nice. Companionship and all that.

There is tbis meme going around that ive been exposed to where men (from what i can tell, young, less experiencd ones) seem to be claiming this? Its like, dude, you're way too young to be done with anything, let alone relationships. Idk if this is a reference to that. There are a lot of folks out there preying for young men's attention by manipulating their fears, angers, or in this case, their everday normal frustrations with tbe opposite ***sex that all men (and women) experience. Ive even seen tbis female youtuber doing it, basically complaining how women are terrible and you shouldn't date them (seriously). Its messed up.

i never was a twitter guy until elon bought em out. i think its worth checking out!

Really the only thing i can tell is different with elon in charge: more intrusive ads, and making it so you can buy tweet visibility in a very sneaky way.

If it wasn't that there are smart people on there worth following inwould not use it.

allow me to correct myself, i mean to say twitter was not something i bothered with until the hype with elon.. the media really made him out to look like a bad guy.. anyways.. so i checked out twitter.. as a non user, doesnt seem much different from other platforms.

I think ADs are always gonna weasle their way in what not.

** sorry for low caps.. i have a pinky syndrome that makes it difficult to press shift

He was controversial because of his approach to content moderatation. Honestly i have barely noticed anything that wise and it wouldn't effect my experience because of how i use twitter.

I don't know that much about Elon. I will give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he is very smart about engineering and maybe also smart about some business stuff (but not that smart, as buying twitter was such an obviously bad investment for himself that he made at precisely the wrong time just-to-be-a-legend).

But i hate how he changed how the verified thing works, its dumb. If he wanted to let people buy twitter visibility, fine, but don't make it the blue checkmark, he should have made it something different.

Twitter always had ads but now you are seeing them more frequently and even in the middle of threads which didn't used to happen.
