Does this mean anything or am I reading too much into it?

Yesterday, I had to take my 17 year old cat in to my vet for a check up and my mom was with me. My whole family comes and sees this vet. My family has been going to see him for a few years now. He’s not very old. We are probably around the same age.

My cat has been having some problems and my vet is running some tests and he won’t have the results in until tomorrow.

He asked what would be a good time for him to call us tomorrow and I told him that I will be at work. I have a 12 hour day tomorrow and I told him he could call and let my mom know since I’m going to be at work all day. He has always called our house number for all of our other pets. He then said, “well, what time do you go in cause I’m here early?” And I told him I start early in the morning. I was thinking there’s no way I will be able to speak to him cause I’ll be at work when they open and when they close. Then he said that he had “my mom’s number and my older sister’s information, and he didn’t have mine so what is my cell number?” As he said this, he had his head down and he was smiling. He then repeated my number back to me to make sure he wrote it down right. I gave him my number and he told me he would call and speak with me in the morning...even though I’m going to be at work. lol. I’m not going to lie, I blushed a little bit. I think it’s because of how he asked for my number and how he was smiling. I’ve kinda gotten vibes from him before, but nothing came from it.

When me and my mom got back to the car, the first thing my mom said was, “he was pretty determined to get your number.” lol. And all the way home she kept saying how he would be a good boyfriend. Not sure if my mom picked up on something. But am I reading too much into this? I just feel like he was really persistent and was really wanting my number. I mean, I still live at home, so he could have just called and spoke with my mom tomorrow. And I told him repeatedly that I will be at work. But I finally told him that I would step away from my desk and speak to him. lol. I think that made him happy. lol.

Right now it is meaningless. Don't put any more connotation on the incident than he wanted to be professional. Keep it that way.

How are things? Did he call your cell or your mom? Hope the cat is doing well and whatever the situation with the vet, it all ends up good, too.

He called me. He said my cat looks great! He said the test results came back and are way better than what he thought. His kidney levels are a little up but not by a whole lot. So, my 17 year old cat is still pretty healthy. He wants me to switch him to this food that will slow Kidney Disease. But, he called me early. I think it was around 7:30 in the morning. Which I appreciate that he listened and he knew I had to work and to get the phone call in before I started. It was a nice chat. I told him I was relieved to hear the results were so good and he told me he was glad to hear that and it made him happy.

I think there's something there. As a professional he has to be careful and can't just hit on all his customers. The whole situation about getting your number was kind of over the top, even your mom noticed something. That was pretty bold on his part, but I think his hands are tied and it's up to you to give him the go ahead by doing something forward.

Ah, that is a great news about your cat! So pleased.. And yes, I agree with DocteurRalph, it is all in your hands now with the vet - maybe offer him a thank you drink..? :))

You should have asked him for his number at home in case of emergencies. Overheated kitty that needs attention or something..

If he called your cell than you already have the number he called you on. Compare that number to the "office" number. He may have used his cell instead of the office phone. Save it in your contacts with his name. When he calls again, you'll know before answering it.
