more work bs lol

There comes a time when you're just a smooth operator, and you got some spare time in between, feeling like a good Samaritan, and you step outside and offer some of that extra help for others as they give it away gladly.

When it becomes a habit of that extra effort in goodness the time calls to recede back to doing our fair share of work., then this miraculous problem arises when they start wondering why it stopped, and argue in their defense believing its part of my job to be that help. indefinitely wrong every way in countless layers of hell.

why is it when you give an inch of your finger they want your whole damn arm and leg.

Perhaps you could explain to them that your kindness is a limited edition and is not a stock standard to their laziness.

Immeadiatly stop the car and tell them how to get out and walk.

They have no foresight of tommorrow or the day after and what it brings. Invite them to lunch and eat in front of their face....slowly.

Or, order something small and quick. Momentarily excuse yourself and pay for your portion only. Eat then leave.

Etc.
Teach them a lesson.

Kindness is confused with weakness more often than not. People in general want to do less and try to abuse weak people.

what a coincidence.. a good person said to me.. " they should not mistake kindness for obligations! "

my general rule is not to help anybody unless they ask me too... ofcourse i break my rule from time to time, when i deem somebody worth helping (most likely wont try to abuse my kindness)...

In general i'd say its important to have rules and be on the look out and learn from mistakes and pains, but at the same time we are all humans and one should be flexible and not everybody is the same and bad experience doesnt mean that all humans are awful. Am sure some people would appreciate your kindness and not try to abuse it but i would say the rate is way lower than the ones who try to abuse it

For me, it goes to this effect -

I like someone who maintains levity. "Hey, can you help me with this before it gets a lot worse?"

And I will. As opposed to the all familiar sound of - "Help me! Help me! It's outta control!"

Because once a victim is made the begging never stops.
