I'm in Eastern Atlantic Canada. It's great here 3 out of 4 seasons. It's the winters I escape from. There are dangerous places every where. It just takes common sense.

Enjoyed your post about the moving to the USA. I've been exploring buying a winter retreat there. It's different and it seems every state has it's own laws. It is a different country although we feel they're the same:)

Awesome!

Happy to answer any questions you have. It probably starts out clean, but as I got along the code probably gets more messy. ๐Ÿ˜…

I love Ruby. Itโ€™s so English like! Feels like you just write a story. ๐Ÿ˜„

But yeah- it uses PSQL, so youโ€™ll need that. Outside of getting that set up, you should be good to go! There is a seed file that can set up a bunch of dummy data, too.

Thanks, Tricky, but not that much better. :(

And you are right, she does prefer anime. I have never watched one of those.

So glad you are still enjoying working as a programmer. My daughter also dreams to be one, and is just finishing her computing course. She's been offered a degree apprenticeship job recently which was a great opportunity the company does work for defence government department, and a great money and benefits also. Sadly, she had to turn it down due to her healt issues. I am fuming and trusting God is challenging right now.. But if her health will allow her, she might just study a computer science degree also. She is having some more health tests tomorrow :(

Hope your weekend is good. Do you have free wknds, or do you have to work?

Oh, great, booked vacation! And you are going to Cyprus as well! People who I just celebrated their Greek Orthodox Easter with this weekend are originally from Cyprus. They are an older couple who I used to work for. They are really nice to me. So, hope you will have a really good time, both in Cyprus and with your family.

I unusually worked on Saturday half day. Then spent the rest in bed. Still not well from the illness I had a week ago. On Sunday I went to feed my friend's hens and cats as they are on holidays, which is 2min drive from me. And then went to feed my brother's fish; as they are on holidays, too, and that took me the rest of the day. They live in a town which is 35miles away and I took the time to drive there and back, and had a rest in their place.

In the evening we watched a movie with my daughter together, which we hardly ever do as she doesn't like watching movies; but it was good. We watched her fav movie - Due Date.

And I have a job, but work only in the afternoon on Mondays - I work as a nanny for a private family, and am just picking up the kids after school. You used to be into programming. Do you still do that sort of thing?

But to mention something what I do like about Easter celebration in Slovakia, is how they decorate Easter eggs - https://www.google.co.uk/search?safe=strict&amp...

Thank you, Tricky.

Oh, have I mentioned that some of the guys who pour water on women also carry a whip and then they hit them with it?! :D

Here it is in pictures if you are interested:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?safe=strict&amp...

But the traditional clothes which most of them wear is not something people wear daily. It is just for this, and some other traditions.

Apparently, they have the similar custom in Poland and Ukraine.

Oh, had some technical error, sorry.. the message wasn't finished.

Glad you get to go back home. Must be a long way to fly, but I'm sure it is worth it.

I don't go back to my country almost at all. Mostly because don't have money now. Times been tough, and I've been unwell for a long time. Also my daughter has been for the past two years.

We have nice mountains in Slovakia, and last time when I went to the country, I actually went to the mountains. In UK they don't have mountains like that. But after 20 years I've been to Lake District and they had quite a tall hills there, and it looked really nice. We were able to stay only about 4 hours though.

I was ill in bed all Easter, so done nothing apart of listening to Christian worship on a radio. But hoping to go on Friday to church to celebrate with my Greek Orthodox acquaintance; they celebrate Easter a week later.

In Slovakia they have many customs at Easter, but the one which I disliked the most was Easter Monday when boys and guys would go from home to home and have buckets of water, and they would pour it on girls/women in the house. After that they would put some perfume on the woman, too. In return, they were given chocolate eggs, money, and if old enough, some alcohol to drink.

aaw! :) i've looked at your old shoutTrail - https://web.archive.org/web/20100125000326/http... . There are still a few messages we exchanged.

I was born in Slovakia and came to UK when I was almost 21 to escape (mostly) my family..

It has always been hard for me living in UK because i am a complete opposite what British people are like, so there's always been tension, and I would only have foreigh friends.

And I am sorry that there is still some war in your country :( But am happy for you that you managed to find a different life. Although, at a cost of leaving your family and friends behind. That is hard if you love your family and have supportive friends. Do you ever go back, or is your family able to visit you?

Oh, I'm surprised that it is very flat. My idea was all hilly or moutain like. I lived in Amsterdam for four months once and that country is flat like a pancake. For me that was hard.

I remember us chatting about Christianity back in the day. You used to be agnostic. Did you celebrate Easter?

Am glad the site is back and can reconnect with lost friends :)

oh, I am sorry about the op. Hope the healing will be fast and you can enjoy the soccer. I do remember you being into it.

And don't worry, I have a bad memory, too. I'm in UK and been stuck here for the past 20 years. So nice you got to Canada! They say there is a nice nature there. Hope your life is better in there. I remember when we were chatting before that there was war going on in your country. :(

It's much appreciated! I'm not sure what you could do though. The database is 7gigs, so tossing it around the internet is kind of a pain. ๐Ÿ˜…

It was originally helpernow.com - I at least think help-qa is better than that. ๐Ÿ˜‚

help.io is parked, but help.* websites are pricey. Most of them are $1,000+/year at the minimum. ๐Ÿ˜ž

I might have to try .NET again. Honestly when I tried it, it was long before I actually started programming. It was when I was still dabbling around and seeing if it was something I wanted to do. So maybe it wasn't a fair trial. ๐Ÿ™‚

Ouch. That doesn't sound fun, but an excuse to try out something new is always good.

I'm glad you like it. ๐Ÿ˜„ There's quite a number of bugs and things I'd like to clean up. I threw it together pretty quickly. ๐Ÿ˜… Luckily it seems most of them are not super noticeable, or people just kind of go with it...

That sounds like a fun project!

hahaha yeah people stick to their preferred languages, I dont know how people code without using '}' and ';' its so odd ^_^

I love .NET! its so awesome, very clean and microsoft are more open source friendly now, so its working out very well.

I will give it a try and see how it goes, I might get a "pilonidal cyst" surgery so might have some time since it requires 2 weeks of recovery will c... but seriously the website is in very good shape, kudos!

still in the very begning, am still trying to wrap my head around it, its confusing, am still trying to make sense of the overall component and tools. Managed to access a local (test) blockchain

That's awesome. My good friend does PHP. I've been trying to convert him for ages. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I touched on .NET for a short time and didn't like it. Now that I've gotten into Ruby and love it so much, I've found it difficult to tear myself away and put time into learning some of these popular new frameworks that are popping out. Haha.

Ruby is super easy and very fun to write, so I recommend it there- but probably not worth learning just so you can help out here. ๐Ÿ˜„ It would be very appreciated though! My list of things to do here has gotten so long that it's hard to find motivation to do it. ๐Ÿ˜› But it's all running and that's what's important.

The Ethereum project sounds fun! Are you far along with it?

What kind of web dev, by the way? I saw you did some PHP in the past- is that still current?
