People dont work for things anymore.

They have fundraisers.
Just come up with a sorry ase story and ask for as much as you need.
Whatever.
I dont like the way things are becoming.

Awful that people are so desperate that everyone turning to them to survive and no doubt fb will be taking large slice for themselves. I wont be doing fundraisers through them.

Jetmoo.
If people need a fundraiser for health or are desperate I think a fundraiser is a good idea.
If you using it for nice things it come across as scaming the public.
When I went to college I got a loan and worked for it.
Today you see fundraisers for college as much as 50.000 dollars.
It doesnt seem roght unless your really disabled .

I'm not sure if I understand. Obviously if you are raising money and lying about what you are raising money for, that is unethical and legally, some type of fraud.

Otherwise, people will donate to things they believe deserve a donation. If you think what is being funded is frivolous, then don't fund it.

I remember hearing a story a long time ago about a young woman raising money to pay for a breast enlargement. I would never donate to that in a million years, but she received thousands of dollars from people. I think it's sad in a lot of ways but it's what people are willing to do, apparently.

The good far outweigh the bad. The bad apples are usually sensationalized in the news, mainly on tv. But there are way more sincere and honest fundraising campaigns than scammers. Remember you are more likely to hear about a single plane crash than the millions of planes that land safely week after week.

Give to those that you deem sincere and honest. Pay it forward if you can.
