ur advice?

I was refused access to a bathroom. "Because I'm not a guest."

When asked if that is supported by hotel policy the employee stated "I don't know."

I called corporate and now the manager has e-mailed me and wants a description of the employee.

I was hoping more for a double down on educating employees not to act like a dumb twit like this employee did.

Not identify people so they can individually get in trouble.

How do you suggest I respond?

Yah ok ignore it, I like that. I've typed several drafts my favorite being:

I would not want anyone individually reprimanded. I would ask that if this is a failure to understand a policy, that you double down on making sure all employees are educated to fully understand company policies.

But I couldn't send that either. So totally leaning ignoring it.

no is a yes to a different question..

ask where could you find a place to use the restroom.. formality goes a long way.

She wouldn't have known that either. This was a breakdown of her understanding of their policy. Maybe she figured it out after this. I can only hope.

Obviously she was wrong or the hotel management would have told me I was wrong. Not asked me to describe the employees.

Fortunately though the agent on the phone selected the wrong location. I will just hope she figured it out after this..

Okay....
First thing, first -

When it comes to hotel policy, "I don't know," is NOT an acceptable answer if you're an employee.

Secondly - "You're not a guest."

WRONG REMARK.

a.) What if you were a guest many times in the past?

b.) By not letting you use their rest room, what reason are they giving you to book reservations in the future?

c.) What if you're the reason other people are staying there?

d.) You have direct influence over your friends when it come to staying at a hotel - and there are other places than this one.

You don't make money or conduct business without customers (or "guests").

As for laying the finger on the idiot, I would do it. His/her attitude was that of self-importance and not necessarily that of the hotel.

Wanna hurt a hotel? Call a cab company and tell them what the hotel thinks of their service.....

It is insulting. On one hand, how dare that *****bitch? On the other, she might be someone's stupid mom.

It should just be legal to slap a stupid *****bitch, male or female, for doing stupid bitchy things lol

Do you happen to have anger management issues? You seem to bump heads with total strangers and go from 0-100 in under 7 seconds. Smoke a blunt. It will help.

Yes probably, but having said that...

I really think you're taking the tone of this post wrong. If you're asking concerning previous posts it might be understandable. But if not I'd have to ask if you are a sheltered child to think that this post is expressing anger. Really I'm kind of wondering wtf right now because I can't understand why you think that I'm particularly enraged right now. I'm not. And I wasn't when I created this post. If you're perceiving that from this post you're just wrong.

But just out of curiosity would you be particularly happy if someone told you that you couldn't take a piss as if you're a 3 year old having to ask for permission? I really doubt you'd experience joy just tbh. So even if I were pissed off about it, I'd totally feel I deserve to be. I certainly doubt you'd think it was a good experience either if it were to happen to you. Examine your own feelings and I'll examine mine. It's great that you're a curious kind of person, but my personality type is not the subject of this post anyway.

A lot of places have a policy to not allow non customers to use the bathroom.
I've worked in bars and hotels where this is the case.
I personally hated having to tell people they couldn't use the bathroom and have allowed it, only to get grief from the boss.
Keep that in mind when the staff deny you - it probably isn't their choice.

From the establishments ***POV, some people abuse their right to use facilities, and make a mess / trash it / steal things, so this doesn't encourage places allowing the public to use them.

Sadly, you hit the nail on the head. People lack respect for public facilities and it ruins it for those who do.

That's exactly it, the few spoil things for the many.
