1000 bucks might mean the differnce between making or not making ends meet for a lot of people.

I think for those who dont really need it its extra spending money to get the economy started again.

If it's any consolation, Obama did the same thing back in '08. It was $1K per person and if I remember correctly, it will come from the Department of Revenue.

In the world that you and I will never know, it's just pretend. It's electrical, ink, paper, etc. It may not even resemble a burden to the national deficet.

There was a special section in the 1040EZ form you filled out. It bounced you up $1K if you earned so much a year or less. I felt like $#!t for taking it, but I did because I really was down and out.
Look for it in your Tax Forms

I remember getting about $600. It made a huge difference to me at the time.

Now... well, $2000 (2 person household) just barely covers my monthly rent. Yeah, it would be beneficial, but not significantly.

i hear 1000 per adult and 500 per kid stim pack in the works atm, seems more logical.

Is it?

Idk seems like all of these huge industries are asking for way more then that. I don’t think it’s enough for a lot of people. I’m ok bc I can work but what about people who can’t?

I won't apply.
It's said that some groups of people may have to pay it back.

Since the qualifying terms aren't solid (but more generalized), the same can be said about those who will be looked at to pay it back- which could mean anybody.

it'll be automatic.. no need to apply

You might be thinking of the SBA loans.

Nope - no need to apply for anything. It’s a grant, not a loan. If you filed your taxes in 2018 and/or 2019, and make under the following amounts, you will receive a check in the mail or a direct deposit to your account.

$75,000 for individuals
$112,500 for head of household filers and
$150,000 for married couples filing joint returns

Ahh, that makes it clear, then. Thank you for that tid-bit, Araz - you're a peach!😃

My accountant is super old and works very slowly lol but she’s sweet and knowledgeable. I know a bunch of people who already got their stimulus check but I don’t think I will be getting mine anytime soon. It’s a good thing both hubby and I are working so much. I can count us as lucky. Unemployment is so high right now.

DH is still in NY working 80+ hr weeks which sucks. I’m saving money by not going anywhere or doing anything too. So we are financially ok for the first time in years... but both of us are lonely and overworked. Trade offs I guess.

I hope the stimulus checks are helpful for people!
