My family doesn't want me to work.

Should I take the job anyway? One individual is trying to sabotage my efforts. The kids just don't like change, and that's perfectly fine, they'll adapt. The other adults in the household are the problem.

What kind of family dynamic is going on there? Why do other adults in the house wish for you to not work? I would think every able bodied adult in the house would work unless someone needs to stay home and watch the children.

For the past seven years, I do all the household work. Kids are in school now, and the job has summers off. They don't want to have to behave as adults. They want to continue to have me clean up after them.

That's my theory anyway. Maybe they just don't like change.
