A Cry In The Dark


Vales of darkness entangled and
enveloped inside the shadows
hidden between particles of light
emitted from the sun
depths of vast nothingness caught
like a raindrop on a blade of grass
streaming through a mind as dead
as prehistoric beasts
empty footsteps heard from
beyond a strangers door
nothing behind the door, nothing
behind the empty dead eyes
nothing behind the shadows
of the trees.
Darkness in the shadows
and darkness in the light
in front of my eyes, its trying to get in
behind my eyes its trying to get out
it hides behind every particle of light
a vast well of nothingness abides there
like a super giant black hole
everything is caught in its vortex
nothing can remain.
days fly by like falling leaves from tree's
the sullen stare of the march winds cool breeze
hides the child inside my heart like darkness hides the owl
its grip on me shadows my pale cold scowl
that is only a guard to the world that i am on the prowl
but inside the safely lighten halls
where phonies win and losers never fall
safely i let the me inside arise
to tiptoe lightly across the forbidden ancient hall
with the world outside and ones i trust that know my fragile smile
im happy to be me, for once in awhile
but when the outside breaks the inner secret chambers of my soul
once again i'll struggle to unveil
the deeper darker side that shall help me prevail.
inside my shadow lies the shaded figure of dawns hidden dance
rises above me, falters in its falling glance
a darkened mystery ponders the glare of the daylights first stance
for twenty five years i followed my pains
to every strange place where my shadows remain
ive seen all the wonder that man can impart
lost in the amazement of his broken heart
the only last tune that is left to be played
is shivering brightness that will leave you dismayed
i saw the ladder they wanted me to climb
a stairway of openings that forever unwind
sheltered in my oneness i did refuse to climb
for all the lost ones that fell from the path
the light post cant walk away from the wrath
im always here and will never depart
the shadows will whisper my name when i start
up towards the light that was mine
from the start
insight that comes from the starry night
ghostly shadows bouncing off the moon light
brings with it lessons learned and lost
paths forgotten, yet forged in blood
wanderlust that was brought to a dizzying height
bring it within the pain of something simple, cold and dark
makes forgetting the lessons one learned in fright
forget the path that's shiny and bright
the darkness teaches the student well
as long as the spirit receives not with anger nor fear
the things that drags it straight to hell
the soul eternal will not tremble
away from the things it desires to quell
embracing with love, all that one might fear
the cover of darkness exposes the light
more than the sun when its shining bright.
something i saw today
reminded me of a picture of you
there is no beginning if there is no end, i saw your tomorrow and it began with my yesterday, it wasn't my life or yours to live.
it was ours, no one can forgive.
sunny mornings, shining bright. its your tomorrow its not mine to live. its your tomorrow, its not mine to live. yesterday i awoke, wondering just wondering, am i me, maybe I'm still here i see, tomorrow, maybe tomorrow we all shall see.
