That’s correct! Pictures and images within the page title would get messy on the home page and notices and all of that. :P

Reason #1 is that the old site didn’t have it.

At the release, I wanted to be as close as possible to the old site, then build with features by request from there.

(Reason #2 is that images need to be hosted somewhere, which costs money. 😜)

As I understand it, images that are posted herein are those hosted on some other site. If that host site changes or removes that image from their server, it will be changed or deleted from here. Is that correct? Same with avatars or do they actually get uploaded to here?

Yep! We host the avatars, but any images or videos posted with comments or posts are externally hosted and just pulled from the original site. So like you said- if that side goes down or otherwise removes those images, they’ll be gone.
