I knew I'd go grey.

Well gray looks rad, you know the kids are dying their hair gray these days. The young X Ray tech at my work did. Don’t focus on death, focus on life!

i'm tired of chasing the happiness myth

Eh I just think you miss out on life and the opportunity to be grateful for it if you’re busy chasing anything.

We look at some of the simplest life on the planet and think it's gross or bad.

Good point though, we are more bacteria than “human material”. We can’t live without them at all. I’m fact I think that’s why all the abuse of antibiotics and germ ex use are so stupid, it just makes us sicker to try and kill all the bacteria.

Viruses aren’t actually alive, unlike bacteria. That’s what makes them so creepy to me.

finally in need to ask for some real help about this situation im in.

Write notes with questions that you want to ask your real boss along with important points. Call for a meeting and calmly talk out your concerns with your bigger boss or HR. It sounds like you are really important, even if you unfortunately haven’t been treated fairly at all. My guess is that you aren’t as replaceable as some customer manager person, so maybe they’d really be willing to make you happier than you think if you ask for something specific to help you do your job and avoid being hassled over irrelevant details. You could ask them to clarify your job description at least so this other guy can’t try and make you do extra.

I've been on the job hunt for months now.

One thing to consider is just trying to make a few friends. If you have any friends and haven’t asked them about job opportunities they might know about, you’re really missing out. Connections are the easiest way to get a job.

Being 'green'.

Wow, really puts things into perspective. Nowadays it's some huge alternative lifestyle to create no waste, but it's just naturally how people used to live I guess! My grandparents grew up on a farm with not much and I always notice how well my granny reuses everything and makes such amazing compost. Makes me feel guilty for being liberal with paper towels...

It's about time for a relationship post.

Just wanted to update and say that me and girl no.1 are best of friends and she does care if I live or die! (having recently narrowly avoided death).
I'm personally not a fan of the discourses that say hetero women aren't interested in platonic male friendships. Doesn't stack up with my experience.

I'm glad I didn't try to make things work with girl no.2 cause ultimately, she deserves better than someone who will settle for her.

Thanks for the update! I think the reason why people say that girls and boys can't just be friends is because one often falls in love with the other (especially in a best friend scenario). I have had two close guy friends I had to end friendships with because they wouldn't let go of the hope that I would date them. They felt I was their best friend, but they weren't mine, and I didn't want to hurt them. All along I was totally in love with my best friend, and it eventually turned out perfectly, but I think I was the odd case in that he fell in love with me too.
