I have been dating this woman for a little over a year now, and it started like the perfect match.

The elements are difficult to digest - largely due to indecision.
HER: An adventurous, physically fit young lady (and likely virgin at that time). Not really overcome by sexual desire but willing to let down her guard for exploration and new experience. It seems to me she is a late-bloomer in this regard. Sometimes it takes a while to "wake the beast." Then you got your hands full.
Aside from that, it seems she was interested in you even before graduation. You may have missed the signals she was giving you before she moved back in with her folks. And it also seems she was delaying carreer moves to see what your decisions were. I think she would have changed her mind about kids and family considering the drastic turn she made from being a "big time adventurer."
However, on the opposite end....you seemed to have went from "homebody" to career adventurist.
Somewhere in between you guys missed each other, face-first.
People are under the illusion that certain carreers are the mom-and-dad replacement when it comes to brandishing "self-reliance." Well....maybe, but it's good to have someone you can count on when you hang your hat at the door.
You can rescue this if you want. Or not.
