Sorry about that all. - Things are fixed now.

Setting up the HTTPS certificate and experienced a little bit of downtime. Looks like we need some more configuration set up, and then I'll redeploy it up once we have some quiet time and everybody isn't trying to use the site.

Again! Sincerest apologies. Nobody likes down time. ๐Ÿ˜ž

For now, HTTPS is disabled until I can properly get all of the configuration set up and good.

What is the benefit of the extra security? Will it invite hackers to try and break in?

Nothing most users will notice.

The main benefit is that it now encrypts all communication between your computer and the server, which is a fancy way of saying that in the off-chance there is a hacker watching the communication to/from the server, they won't be able to tell what's happening because everything gets jumbled up and hard to read.

No- it won't invite hackers to try to break in any more than it did previously. (Hopefully less, if anything, because of the jumble-ness listed above)

Another side-benefit is that Search Engines (like Google) tend to appreciate sites that have SSL certificates installed, and will therefore give us more SEO points. ๐ŸŽ‰
