When I was a kid, I raised around 30 chickens. I went out to feed those chickens and noticed something interesting; where I threw the grain the chickens ran.

I used to fish when I was younger and noticed the smaller fish kept closer to the shore where the reeds and thickets grew. When I chummed the water, the water would boil in a fish frenzy.

I remember the day when the internet and certain website became "official." I can remember the initial reaction of people who were getting on board. I reflected upon a moment of history involving a ship that was said to be unsinkable.

People as individuals are wondrous and terrific. As a collective, regarding social trends, I find the collective to be an apparition that is nothing less than evil.

Every snowflake in an avalanche cries "not guilty!"

I never had a Facebook account for all the reasons mentioned above, so I can't honestly say I know how you feel with regard to it.

However, it sucks in general to be ignored.

I have a lot of stuff that I have written on my yahoo account and have kept it there. Sometimes I post it on facebook but I also feel ignored. Only a few people bother to reply to me and I really appreciate their replies. Don't let it bother if people don't reply to you. Make me your friend on there and I will look for you if you want to so I can reply to your posts. Kindred souls are always finding each other.

FB is like that.....

It tends to make me MORE lonely when I am there....

I personally don't really give a ****shit about what people think about on Facebook. I post stuff that's relevant to me and, if people like it.. GREAT! If people don't then screw 'em cuz I've got a 'real' life to live that's far more varied and interesting. Facebook and other social media are basically time wasters and, ultimately ancillary to my other interests.

For example, just the other day we had harsh freezing rain that knocked out power for 24hrs. Well, I did some reading and got onto replacing a front wheel bearing on my parents' car. Didn't really miss the net. Actually, it kinda made me nostalgic for pre-2003 when I didn't have a computer or cell phone.

Facebook is an illusion. It is a commercial venture owned by Mark Zuckerberg, who has renounced his US citizenship to avoid paying taxes. It violates equal opportunity laws by targeting employment ads to only certain age groups. God only knows how much personal data has been mined and sold to advertisers and other commercial enterprises--or how much has been given to the government.

And remember this quote from Sherlock: "Only unimportant people ignore you."

But of course!

Always be sure that the mirror in which you look is not a distorted one!
