Business help.

So as most of you guys know Iโ€™m setting up my dog training biz.

I also run an Etsy store which sells cupcake toppers and tote bags etc.

So I had a mega idea to design some dog themed tote bags. I have a brand name in mind which is separate to both current businesses.

I could sell the bags through the Etsy shop as they would fit with the shop identity.

But I do want to advertise the bags on Facebook. And I feel like buyers would trust a website more than they would be arsed to buy through Etsy. Not to mention the fees through there too.

So I was thinking I can sell through my dog training website which does have a shop running though no sales. But as a separate brand. So would i need to set up another biz? Iโ€™m not sure how it would work

Sorry this is kinda long. Just trying to process my thoughts

I don't think that you would need another biz to sell a brand... Just market the bags as brand "A" opposed to your store brand "B"

It would be the same as Wal Mart selling two brands of the same thing.

If you want to keep a separation of the concerns, then your creative business could sell them to your dog training business. Not through etsy of course, but just on paper. It would be a sale for your creative store and an expense for your dog business. Then, when your dog business sells one, it is income for the dog business.

Actually, that is probably overkill and then you might have to pay sales tax, etc, etc.

Probably best to do as Padre suggests. Keep it simple.

The more visible your brand is the better. So Etsy, EBay, Facebook sales groups close to you, POS (Point Of Sale) when you do free seminars in pet stores. The more the better.

Personally I don't carry a bag. Any plans to do t-shirts? I'll take 8...

100% will be doing t shirts. The only reason Iโ€™m not starting with them is because the range of sizes is more stock expense than buying just one bag.

A couple of years ago the government banned free plastic carrier bags, they have to benpaid for now, which led to an increase in demand in cotton totes ๐Ÿ˜

T shirts are the aim though.
