this statement defines my whole existence

Apathy (also called impassivity or perfunctoriness) is a state of indifference, or the suppression of emotions such as concern, excitement, motivation and passion. An apathetic individual has an absence of interest in or concern about emotional, social, spiritual, philosophical or physical life.

They may lack a sense of purpose or meaning in their life. He or she may also exhibit insensibility or sluggishness. The opposite of apathy is flow. In positive psychology, apathy is described as a result of the individual feeling they do not possess the level of skill required to confront a challenge. It may also be a result of perceiving no challenge at all (e.g. the challenge is irrelevant to them, or conversely, they have learned helplessness). In light of the insurmountable certainty of universal doom, apathy is the default mode of existential Nihilism, and, as such, is not considered to be a pathological state by those who experience it.

We get a short life, I'm going to enjoy it! You can have all the insurmountable doom you want or don't want, Nihilism misses the whole point.

We all gonna die in the end, so we might as well have a good life and be happy and do what we can to make people happy until then.

Apathy is really boring.

I can't disagree with this, but I see no point to life if we don't fully embrace and live it. We're here - we might as well have fun (and all its accompanying pain.)

Not all. Much, but not all.

Yeah, I been through it too. After a while the detachment feels much worse than any amount of pain. It really made me feel like not even waking up each day, and it was really hard to break free, but I had to, or I would have died.

That is actually a myth. Lemmings do not follow the crowd over cliffs to their deaths. They do sometimes get so crowded and chaotic that sometimes some of them fall.

Other species murder, but as far as I know, only humans intentionally suicide.

all we do is spend our lives like a moth beating its wings against a closed jar and once we're free, fly into the fire.
