Anyone here have experience with non-verbal autism?

I have zero experience with non verbal autism, but I have little experience with aspergers-high functioning autism. What I've learned is, you can't force them to do anything and you shouldn't. I've got this opinion that, if it gets the job done, then it's the right way. For example, doesn't matter if they use the fork their way, as long as they can eat with that. There's this forum called autismforums, don't know if you've heard about it, over there you can communicate both with autistic and nt people, a nice community.

Thank you, I'll go check them out.

I'm uncomfortable with the idea of forcing anything or intentionally causing frustration, but people keep telling me I should, and I know parents who have had success with just being more stubborn than their child.

My little brother used to have one of those outfits.

so, what if from the time we're born to the time we die, we live different possibilities, different configurations of our lives, not unlike quantum physics, quantum mechanics, quantum entanglement.

It might be true, but the only branch that matters is the one you are aware of right now. You know it wouldn't be just your own choices: it would branch each time someone else makes a choice that affects you too. It's very nearly infinite for all practical purposes, maybe even actually infinite.

No more trying please. We will miss you. I'm glad you're out - I've never been in one of those places, but I've visited a family member in one, they look pretty miserable.

i been in a few dozen, lol the food sucks, beds are crappy, sometimes you meet crazier people than you are. but sometimes, you can get a little perspective.

My ex-husband seemed to enjoy an occasional visit. I always thought they seemed like prison, though I've never been to prison either. (I was in the army though. It's kind of like prison.)

not after you do it for a while.. best method is to use is purified water.. not that tapped water garb.

I'm almost to the point that I might try it. Seems the neti pot is highly recommended, and that's about the same thing.

Oops...

What's done is done. Just reassure your sister that these pictures are private for your own reasons and you didn't mean to upset her with them, they aren't a cry for help. Maybe some good will come of it in the long run, maybe greater trust and understanding of each other.

@soco it's seasonal, so probably pollen but I don't know which kind. When there was construction next door, the disturbed soil triggered my sinus allergies too. Certain kinds of grass and weeds give me a rash if I touch them. I'm probably mildly allergic to the pets too, but it's tolerable and I'm afraid to bathe my cats. (They're very clawful and don't like water.)

We've got windows open for the fresh air this time of year. I'm too much of a miser to start up the AC yet.
