Itโ€™s been a long time but itโ€™s nice to see that some people came back.

I'm sorry about your depression. When I was really young I felt like I didn't fit in and I thought about killing myself too. My dad had a pistol and I even got the thing out and looked at it a few times. Everything was just too much to handle and I cried a lot and was just generally miserable.

But you know things do change. Your life can get better. It can get a lot better. I've found that having a lot of friends is basically bullshit too. Most people don't really care about others, they just want something from you. Then you find yourself spending your time doing favors and lending money and going out of your way to be nice to people that wouldn't spit on you if you were on fire.. Okay maybe most people aren't that bad, but a lot of them are.

I kind of got out of my depression by getting involved in things I could do myself. I used to draw a lot, I would draw pictures of cars and buildings, and sometimes I drew pictures of naked women. I had a lot of fun doing that.. lol. I got a guitar and played that for hours a day. You can really immerse yourself in an instrument, and when you make nice sounds it gives you a warm feeling inside too. Plus banging on a guitar is a great way to let out aggression. I got two jobs and saved money and bought a motorcycle. Then I took long long long rides on that motorcycle and really had a lot of fun doing that.

But I know everyone likes to have other people around, and having someone you can talk to is important. Even though we're just a computer screen there are people here that care about each other. There are people here that care about you too.

There was something my mom told me when I was a kid and unhappy a lot. She said if you smile instead of frown you will feel better. It works. In fact they are just now getting proof of this because of botox injections. People who have this treatment can't move their face enough to frown and they have discovered that suddenly they are much happier simply because of their facial expressions...

So yeah start smiling more and come here and talk to us. You can come to us for anything, and we won't even try to borrow any money. Well, maybe not.

Help-QA feature poll: Changing Anonicons

I forgot about Yeti changing his name every couple of days way back when.. about drove me crazy. I think the only reason I figured him out was because he changed it but still had a different series of letters flashing for his avatar. He could have been anonymous forever just by changing his name I guess. Hmmm..

I didn't realize the anonicon is with you for life either. That HAS to change, it almost defeats the purpose of having it. Plus lots of times people accidentally forget to hit the "Post Anonymously?" box and out themselves. I've seen it happen quite a few times and it is embarrassing to say the least.

And I wholeheartedly agree with rockster that we need to worry more about making people comfortable than about trolls. We don't really have a troll problem here anyway unless you consider soco a troll.. ha ha ha. Couldn't help myself there Wendo.

I like the per post idea. The monthly thing is kind of random and I've already outed my own anonymous avatar on that other post where this whole discussion started, so we have to change it now...

Ummm the manual idea is pretty good too. Like yeti says if you're trying to make a fashion statement you can just keep generating different ones until you find something that floats your boat. And it gives people the option of changing it mid-post if they really want to or leaving it the same forever so that their friends will recognize them but no one else will. Yeah, vote for that everyone!

Other than guessing from language, can anyone tell who the anonymous posters are?

Yep, same as the other day.

Do you have any recommendations for good anti-anxiety medication?

Be careful if you do take any benzodiazapines like Xanax (alprazolam), Ativan (lorazepam), or Klonopin (clonazepam). A lot of people commit suicide when they are taking them for some reason. According to the Lorazepam website "Benzodiazepine drugs can unmask the suicidal behavior of patients if not given with an antidepressant drug". Where's the Helpbot when you really need him, right?

And I'm the last person in the world that should lecture people on taking pharmaceuticals, because I've been on them all at one point or another and with no ill effects except maybe a trail of wrecked cars from overindulging while drinking too... but someone in my family committed suicide after taking benzo's so I have to put that out there. If you've ever had any suicidal tendencies at all try to stay away from them or at least not take them for extended periods of time.

@Pianoman91894 Stopped by for a short time. Maybe we can get him back for a big reunion. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I invited Cait (friends in real life) but she isnโ€™t quite ready to come back yet, I donโ€™t think.

Happy to hear youโ€™re doing so well! ๐Ÿ˜„

The other day when I was reading the loooooong post I noticed that Cait quit posting when pasta iguhasta went on her mission. It was the beginning of the end for her.

Xanax, valium, klonopin are all great for making me relaxed. They all make me tired and uninhibited too though. Fatigue, dizziness, brain fog, lack of focus... hmmm. It sounds to me like you're already on xanax, have you tried drinking a lot of coffee?

I bet if you logged in with a different e-mail it would be different.
