Are pit bulls safe to have as a domestic dog?
I haven’t gotten any cravings to smoke (Day 10 Nicotine free!) but I’ve been told I’m crankier, I have a gross cough that won’t go away, and I’m tired all the time.

That cough is really good for you. It is clearing your lungs out. The worse your lungs are, the longer the cough will stick around. Quitting now is a great thing though, congratulations!

Why does people still follow charlatans and liars like Kent Hovind?

Yeah well I had to google this Kent Hovind guy and he seems to be standing behind his convictions... I mean he's serving a 10 year jail sentence instead of kissing the ***ass of the establishment and doing what they want. Maybe he truly believes what he preaches and feels it is his duty to deliver his message.

Why do people follow him? Hell why did people follow Adolph Hitler or Jesus Christ or Martin Luther King Jr? They all suffered for it. Sometimes I wonder if people are really true believers in the message or if they just get carried away by the personality of these peopl who have an incredible ability to make others follow them? I think half and half at least, most people aren't smart enough to make decisions on their own, they want someone to tell them what to do and think. This Hovind guy does a good job of that.

I'm 6 years sober and I want to quit going to alcoholics anonymous.

I've often thought that the people I know that quit drinking to go to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings were just trading one addiction for another. I mean I had a roommate who went to two or three meetings a day, it was all he ever talked about.. to be perfectly honest he was easier to live with when he drank.

With that being said I'm sure that going to AA meetings isn't as bad for you as getting drunk every day, especially if you like to drive when you are drunk and have 5 or 6 DUI's like my friend. But yee gads man, you haven't had a drink in 6 years and you still go? I would have thought that after a year or so you would just kind of realize you didn't want to drink any more and go on with your life. Do you want to drink? Do you think that without the meetings you will be bored and start drinking? Maybe you need a hobby... yeah that's the trick. You could just get addicted to hanging out on the computer all the time like me... of course for some reason that doesn't make me want to quit any of my other addictions. Maybe it will work for you though.

Post Closed Post Closed

When I was a kid we went to an animal auction every weekend and there were always cows there with bot flies on their back. It would be a bump and you could squeeze it and a worm came out. Great fun when I was 11 years old. I forgot about it until I saw these videos so I googled it... yup. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_BjaLj61Irw

The end of a long trip--from the Southern USA to Canada.

My grandmother lived in western NY state when I was a kid and I had a great aunt (her sister) who lived in Canada. We used to go see her all the time and never even got out of the car once. They just looked inside and waved everyone on through, I'll bet those days are long gone. Of course there wasn't a lot of international terrorism in the 60's, probably lots of drug smuggling but the authorities acted like they were clueless then.
