I am a cyclist and long distance runner.

I never wear the masks and I work with dust and crap in the air. They seem like the inhibit the amount of air I can take in and they make me sweat. If I wear a mask and safety goggles the mask makes the goggles fog up and I can barely see, multiplying the chances that I will accidentally cut my hand off with one of the power tools I always have in my hand... yeah they are worthless in my opinion.

If it makes you feel any better I have been cutting out windows with a sawzall and breathing the lead paint dust for over 30 years and I am the healthiest 57 year old man I know. I think exercise is the key and yeah there's lots of pollutants out there for you to breathe but I've never tried a mask I could keep on for more than five minutes. Good luck with that.

safer way to find roommates than craigslist?

I've always moved in with people I was friends with. Doesn't anyone you know have an extra room? One time I moved in with a guy and slept on his couch until the lease was up and we got a place together. I don't think I could live with a complete stranger.

Why can't I write?

That guy soco is pretty opinionated and kind of a jerk, I wouldn't let him worry you. He's a leftwing snowflake that never misses a chance to diss the president too. Basically he's not much help himself...

Say where you're from.

How does one compare to the other?

It was like moving to a foreign country. Heck I grew up in a small town that was all farmers and my dad was the only veterinarian that worked on cows horses and pigs. So everyone knew me and had known me as the little kid who rode around with the vet my whole life. There were no black or brown people, no one that wasn't exactly like me. There weren't any jobs either unless your dad had a farm and you were the first born son who inherited it.

So yeah I moved to a relatively big city and was anonymous and everyone hated me for the way I talked, I was a damn yankee. It was a heck of a change, learning all the different dialects and having criminals and people you couldn't trust all around. There's not a lot of that in small towns, they figure you out fast and you go to jail or move. Quite a big difference.

Now Nashville has changed. It's not even a southern town anymore, 200 people move here every day and most of them don't even speak English, much less southern drawl...

I have been on this site for a long time!

I miss the old help too and I know this one will never be able to be that. I think it is THAT NAME! It was the catalyst that brought me there, it was something that I think people do every day. Type Help into their computer.

Maybe it was that we were all in the right place at the right time for it, kind of like the Beatles but I also feel it could be bigger and better. If only we could find a way to direct traffic here. This place really has a head start because there are so many people already here that want to talk to people and try to help them. We're an answer without a question.

I used to write a lot of stuff for the old Help.com.

I want a cut of the book royalties... heck I want to buy the book.

Why can't I write?

People write different ways, there is no wrong or right way to do it. Some people make a list of characters and try to figure out who they are and what they are motivated by before they start. Some people write the beginning and ending and then fill in the middle. Mark Twain said he would re-write everything dozens of times. Write it once, then write it again, then again and again until he was finally happy with it.

The mixed race child.

I've noticed churches are kind of exclusive too, when they should be as inclusive as they possibly can. That's what Jesus would do. Plus church attendance has plummeted in the last 30 years. It used to be that 40% of the population regularly attended church and now it is less than 20%... and they're running people off.

Say where you're from.

I'm still waiting for someone to write "where you're from". Say "where you're from"?

And you have to narrow it down a lot more than just united states... I mean just writing that and not capitalizing United States makes me think you're not from the USofA. It's a big country and people from different areas act completely differently so normally we categorize ourselves at least a little. Even if you don't say what city or state you live in one usually gives some clue to the geographic location like the south or midwest or left coast...

Are pit bulls safe to have as a domestic dog?

Yup. There's no way that girl could control that dog if he wanted to eat you alive.
