Just found out my dad has got terminal stomach cancer.

That’s nothing to be ashamed of. Life is not rosey all the time. They tried so hard to contact you then I’m sure that will be understanding of your situation. Talk to them. I think you will be surprised.

But don’t cut contact with them before you know how they will react.

I have spent my whole life being considerate and bending over backwards to please that woman. I’m so over it now

Plain and simple: Her roof? Her rules.

That’s why I’m always reluctant to post these problems. It’s so easily to say her house her rules so I must do whatever she demands. My dad is all for a puppy. And if she had valid reasons then I would accept it. But it is no burden to her financially or time wise. The puppy will help me with the business and networking.

They worry because they love you. Maybe just lie about how you have been? Then there’s no stress about that and you get to see your dad

I think I will have to just bring him home. And it will cause hell. But am I supposed to give up my dreams for her? I’ve done that for long enough. She actually said she would love for me to have a puppy. But not now for whatever reason in her warped head.

It won’t affect her at all. She mostly stays at home anyway playing diggy adventures on facebook. She goes out every fri with her mum and sis. Puppy will not affect that.

She is unhappy. And she is using a puppy as an excuse. But the fact is she doesn’t live life now anyway. I want to live my life going to events at weekends and training my dog through the week. My work is flexible so that’s no problem for me. I won’t ever ask her to take care of the puppy unless it’s an absolute emergency as I don’t want her screwing up my dog. Which she would given the chance. I’ve spent 3 years studying dogs so it’s not like it’s a whim which will pass.

All she does is blame people for her problems.

Nix, sorry the pup has a hernia :/ but glad you have been able to find a new one! :)) are you going to tell your mom before the pup arrives?

I think that’s why I’m freaking out. I asked last night like I have several times over the last two months and she’s just saying no.

I lost it with her last night. She’s just so selfish, I would get it if we didn’t already have one, or I wasn’t a dog trainer. But she insist she wants to live her life. I’m not stopping her. She stops her self when she is on Facebook constantly.

She’s not happy with her life so she’s ruining mine
