I just started renting a room.

I share a manufactured home with a disabled vet. I didnt realise i wasmoving into a home with 13 hours of i max home theatre. Im not happy with this. I like to read and study. Now i spend as much time away from home. Its getting too cold to stay out all the time. Do i have any rights? I asked hime to lower it and he does but the next day the volume goes back up. What are my options? It expensive here. I signed a lease. I really am not a fan of 13 hours loud t.v. everyday. Thanks guys

Or, if he refuses, you can probably get a pair of Boise cancelling ear buds/headphones yourself and drown it out.

Your lease is not between you and the roommate. See if you can get a different roommate arrangement by speaking directly with the leasing company. Tell them about the problem. Give them time to work on a solution, but keep them informed about any changes during this stage. Hopefully the constant reminders keep them focused on a suitable living arrangement.

Just the one to the TV. Don't want you to loose wifi or lighting to read by.

Then just tell him, look this has either got to be toned down or you break the lease and demand your money back. You probably are not the first roommate he's had issues with. And until he learns how to be civil, he will have to pay the full rent on his own.

Its funny. When i was renting my cabin in the mountains i had a surround sound stereo and i never used it when i rented a room. It was comon sense not to disturb my tenent. I swear i must have been raised on a different planet. Humans are all so selfish today. Oh well. Keep the advice coming. I may monkey wrentch the speakers. I like that

Are you sure he is disabled and not actually deaf?
Either way it's not right you having to put up with it.
I would have another word with him.
Tell him your trying to study and you would appreciate it if he didn't blast his tv.
If it persists then do some snipping.

No he has neurological disability. I understand all he has in life now is a t.v. but at the same time i am paying good money to live in this home. Its not easy to just up and go unless you have a place to go to. I am new to this city. If i wear earplugs it helps a little but i feel sonically violated. This will be my third attempt at asking him to lower it. My parents do the same thing when i visit them. I get the same response with them. Am i the only one who hates loud t.v. i think ill mess with the i nax amplifier tomorrow night. When i leave rental ill repair it.

Nope your not on your own, I don't like loud tv either.
When Adverts come on I actually mute it. Lol
I don't mind loud music (depending on what's playing)
Yeah I think some snipping is definitely in order.😉

Is there a mutual 3rd party you can ask to persuade him some more?

Start practicing trumpet playing.

Don't take lessons, just guess your way through it.
Get amplifiers so it can be heard over his noise.

First I would say check your lease to see your power and recourses.

Second, or perhaps at the same time, I would go and get some high end noise cancelling earplugs.

I use these but there are far better (and far more expensive) varieties if you are willing to pay the money.
