I am having trouble getting used to Help and how it works.

I know Alice never had trouble. She lived on Help and loved all of you. So somebody asked to friend me & I'll figure out how to do that. Some have followed me and I don't know if they want to friend me.

I'm not as smart as Alice, I sometimes think. I'm also all news all the time. I like to follow politics & government so I get distracted.

OK. I'm giving this a try.

Hi there.

I was a mod on the original Help and in fact helped Alice get up to speed when she became mod. Outside of modding Help I can't say our paths crossed much but she was always helpful, friendly and fair whilst moderating. I understand many people will miss her a great deal.

If you hover your mouse cursor over 'Account Admin' you will get a little drop down menu you can select 'Friends' from. Fans are users that have sent you a friend request, Favourites are those users you have sent request to. Once the requests have been accepted you will both be 'Friends'. You can do this by clicking on the little icon that looks like a person beside the users avatar.

Hi D.H. I'm soco or from Original Help, southern_comfort. I'm also the person that initiated the invite on Facebook.
Basically the altruism here is simple. People come in from all over the world and request help on any number of subjects or reasons. We respond back on their post, to the best of our ability and knowledge. Simple as that.
Sometimes, and most of the time this does happen, they come back to offer their help because of the help they themselves received. And as a result the Help family grows.
So welcome back and i sincerely hope you enjoy your stay.

So far you have done a good job at making a post and it seems you know how to respond to the replies of others.
Right now, your post is on the main front page. As other posts are made yours will roll to the bottom. Eventually, it will roll over to the second page.

Are there emojis or symbols or something I can click to indicate I liked the post you all left me? I can't tell what everything means. I have avoided the flag, because that sounds like it's flagging admins to come see trouble.

Thanks!

You can respond to users by either clicking the "quote" button, or tagging them by typing an @ symbol followed by their name, like so: @Granny

You can also send emoji's in replies, by typing a colon, then the type of emoji you want. It will pull up a little box that you can use to select the emoji you want. ๐Ÿ˜„

There isn't currently functionality to "react" to a reply like "liking" on Facebook, although that's on the possible future feature list. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Generally, replies are much more meaningful when they're actually typed out as a response rather than just a click though. ๐Ÿ˜œ
