If I gave you

everything that I have, and ask nothing in return,

would you do the same for me as I would for you?

If I were to say yes you would try to hold me to my promise, and that would refute your promise to ask nothing in return.

That was my thought, the post is like a request that another person give everything. That's a steep price, especially if one person has a lot more to offer. I think the only appropriate time to offer everything for everything is when you're madly in mutual love.

Brilliant reply

Also, I think that a person cannot give up all that they have and remain the same person. So maybe having "nothing left to give" makes you the type of person who would never give up all that you have.

Basically, we can all afford to give up things/pieces of ourselves, to help humanity as a whole. But we can't give up all of it, or we lose our essence (if we give up all of our hopes, desires, non tangible parts of who we are); and we lose our ability to be self sufficient (if we give up all of our material items...)

I would say 'no,' because when you ask,

"would you do the same for me as I would for you,"

pre-supposes the fact that you DO expect something in return.

Yes is my answer.
If I gave my all to you;I expect the same.
If I respect and trust you; I expect the same.
We're one and we walk along life together. That's just my opinion. I do not want materialist things just compassion, loyalty and understanding.
