ok guys, got some real help needed here

here it goes, so today.. at work im doing my thing and since another employee has been absent. for a few days. i've stepped up and went above what is required of me to do.. i took over the duties and tasks of this persons position without any struggle and made it look too easy. all the while at the same time im doing the work that my position requires as well.

so after a few days passed something came to mind about how if im doing twice the manpower to make it work. i thought.. if im doing a double play, i should get double pay.

today i didn't hesitate to ask the upper manager a question that i felt was a fair question.

" excuse me, would you think that if im going to fill someone else position while doing mine at the same time. isnt that worth twice the pay rate? "

she chuckled and said .." i dunno who's position are you trying to fill..?" at first i was like.. thats a stupid question.. you should already know the answer to that. but i kinda steamed off and started having flashbacks about how i dealt with 4 yrs of this bullshit negligence of my capabilities.

this is where i stumbled and started to point at people who i do at times try to cover alot of work that they should have been doing in the first place.

long story short.. manager gave some thought and sent a work email to me about how they know and really appreciate how im a badass employee.. but double pay is out of question, instead a performance review meeting for a raise will be in effect sometime in a few days.

if any grand advice to prepare myself for the win. i could really use it.

theres more to the story lol, bout 4 yrs of it.. but i dunno what to think at the moment. im still nerved out.

gonna throw some company statistics

90 percent are a bunch of "zeros" who limp around not working or needs to be told what to do.

5 percent are a bunch of "justified half-*****asses" who feel like the work they do does not pay. so they wiggle their way doing sufficient work

3 percent are "number ones" who just stick to only the adequate work thats required

2 percent "twice the person they are" who do x2 times the work to prove what their capable of

hmm maybe not entirely accurate .. but yes it nearly illustrates the picture.

Do you have a list of specific examples of how you’ve helped the company? In addition to the “I’m doing so-and-so’s work as well as my own”.

I would say though that you seem like you work very hard and you’re invaluable to the company. You did say that they have acknowledged it and that while they cannot double your pay, they offered you a performance review.

Additional advice: it’s hard not to badmouth shitty coworkers but try to refrain from doing it to much bc it just makes you look bad at the end of the day. Even if they’re lazy, apathetic waste of spaces.

Again I concur with @Araz . If you have time to notice the faults of others you have time to dedicate more production into your own. If you do your job and do it extremely well you may receive some praise...

at your funeral.

I dunno what to say except good luck. Also I agree with the be careful with the comparing yourself to others. Best to stay humble or you get judged on that. It’s only social acceptable when you are close to someone to tell them the real truth.

Although.... meh I dunno really. Just see how it goes I guess.

If they think you don’t get along with others or feel resentment to the, they may foresee grievances in future between you and them. Best to be a “team player” I guess.

Good luck and don’t forget to breath x

I'm in the 5% kind of employee I guess.

I feel that most jobs do not pay worth the work you're doing so why do a really bad ***ass job? If you want to waste my time underpaying me? Why should I step up and give you a badass service or product? If I feel like you're jipping me it's not going to make me bend over backwards to give you an awesome experience. Sorry.

Tough ****shit.

Show me some money and I'll put all I've got into it. If you want to undercut me you're just a piece of ****shit. And there's a lot more pieces of ****shit than those willing to pay a fair fee for a fair product or service.

i do appreciate your justification on this matter. i did too for a while and then they started wondering why i wasn't working twice as hard. this did bother me on how i was like look you effin idiots.. if your running a restaurant.. the cook sticks to cooking.. he does not host/wait/clean/stock when you got other people for that!

so guess what i went x2 after that.. and went on to waiting on my luck. tho on the brightside.. the longer it goes.. i do become more righteious in a way because they know the grand benefit of having me working there. so i can add the years of excellence and use it against them. this is my game plan. im just hoping it works.

i really dont want to look for another job btw

not to take over your post with my replies but i just want to say i do hope it works out. i am not willing to put in many years of time just on the hope they might one day recognize it. because far too many times i've worked really hard and been ****shit on instead. it's not even an opinion i hold it's a conclusion based on observation and experience. to me, that's like saying "sure you can waste my life" because there's nothing keeping them from not wasting your life and they'll do it by default.

Walmart doesn't care who runs it as long as it's run well enough to make the corporate dick heads richer. That's all. You're not important at all to Walmart. I use them as an example but insert any company name there and it works.

But if this strategy ends up working for you it would at least give me hope that it can!

Did they give any reason why you didn't get the pay increase? Just curious what they could say to such a valuable asset to their company!

no it was sort of .. pushed to the side.. i did mention it to a few superiors if it were coming .. they said.. yea yea.. its coming.. just gonna be a while..

the moment i learned this, i asked myself if i should create more annoyance about it or just let it go and let it happen. honestly im not the type to be a bother, decided to hope for better

but believe me.. when 5 yrs comes up and nothing improves i'll be giving my review of the company and in it will be everything good n bad about it.
