I never touched a star fish before. They kinda are freaky. Maybe I can scoop them up with a plate to throw them

I thought starfish had a squishy sticky side. I dont want one suctioning to my hand or biting me

Starfish do have hundreds of tiny tubes underneath but are extremely harmless to the touch. They do not bite or attach to human skin in any way. They make lousy pets. They need the currents of the ocean to stay alive.

They have very rough, bumpy skin.

Their underside is also rough, but whereas their upper side is hard, their underside is soft.

They contract and shrink in your hand.
