Anyone know what to do with a whole lot of bamboo shoots?

Nobody will eat the bamboo shoot pickles. What should I try next?

Not the stalks, the shoots. They're for eating.

I've also got a big bundle of stalks. I'm thinking of using them to build a fence.

I finally got my grapevines cleared, and now the bamboo is popping up again by the hundreds. It's a constant battle, but if I can keep the bamboo from growing back, I should get grapes in two years.

this chair was the hole reason for the vietnam war, the french enslaved the vietnamese for 300 years and forced them to make these, i only own this chair to remind myself, never to hurt anyone.

so, what should you do with your bamboo shoots? burn it or build a monument to remind yourself why you should be a nice person.

I ended up throwing most of them in the trash last year. It just seems a shame to let so much free food go to waste. If you don't cook it right it'll cause a stomach ache, and if you don't cook it right away it turns woody and inedible. The internet says it's only good for stir fry and pickles. I think there's got to be other options.

@Jebus-Zeus that chair looks like a throne made of bones. I think it would belong in a room with candles, mirrors, and black curtains.

Any zoos nearby? Seems giant pandas consume an abundance of the stuff on a daily basis (26 to 84 pounds).

We really need a panda! It's taken me two years to uncover our little vineyard and the cursed bamboo is sprouting faster than I can keep up. I've been spending a few hours each week just digging them up, not even counting the time to clean, cut, cook, preserve, and package them. Maybe I should open a farmer's market booth to get some payment for all my time. Would people buy it?

Aye, apparently one cannot own endangered species as pets for some reason.

Maybe. You'd need to probe the market to venture an educated guess regarding supply & demand. That's more time spent, if you care for it.

Who would've thought a suburban lot could involve so much farming!

I need to put a net over the cherry tree, because the birds won't share with us. I've got roses aplenty, I'm thinking of making rose water or syrup. Before long the figs will be ready. And hopefully in a year or two we will get grapes, if I can keep the bamboo under control.

We've also got pokeweed, dandelions, and wild onions. I occasionally use the wild onions but I don't care for the taste of poke salet or dandelion greens so I just leave those for the rabbits and deer and birds.

My uncle happened to explain a few bits about rose water production, last month; alack, all I recall is that it's worth its weight in gold, passed on the odour to the transportation vehicle permanently, and something about a ton of effort for a few oil drops from the stems.

We only have a lemons, grapefruits and plums in terms of product; it's even permitting the birds their fair share, it seems somewhat time consuming an affair, and many are given away to relatives (perhaps you could trade).

I thought we went to Southeast Asia because that's where all the poppy's are... isn't that why America is fighting in Afghanistan? I can't come up with any other reason, and heroin is easier to find than Lortabs these days. Just a coincidence I'm sure. https://i.ytimg.com/vi/9A9vaFCyg5w/hqdefault.jpg
