I hate working for the company I work for.

In the US, you get double-pay for holidays. And what was done to you is known as "reprisals." Very illegal in US & Canada, and I'm sure in UK as well.

The union there must be an invertebrate species!

Are pit bulls safe to have as a domestic dog?

With a pit bull, genetic programming is the thing. Dogs act on impulses. They do not reason out consequences. You can provide a pit with a great environment and still end up with a bloody mauling or killing.

With so many better breeds out there for a pet at home, why take such a risk? The risk-benefit ratio doesn't work in your favor with a pit. And you could end up losing your home and life savings in a lawsuit, plus face criminal charges as well.

Bottom line: too dangerous and not worth the risk!

There are people in this world who are deniers--I am reminded of the Treadaway idiot who denied that grizzly bears were dangerous, and took his fiancee with him to live among the bears in Alaska's Denali Park. The bears killed and ate them. Some people are not willing to accept facts where animals are concerned, and think they will prove everyone else wrong. They think they have some special power over animals. As children, they were on a steady diet of Disney movies. These are the people who own pit bulls, and always act shocked and surprised after their dogs rip into some innocent person. The statistics and accounts of pit bull attacks are out there for everyone to see, but these narcissistic pit bull owners think they know better than everyone else.

Do you have a nice, cold pond to jump in afterwards?

I advise people to take diagnoses from psychiatrists with a grain of salt. Well, maybe with a truckload of salt.

Quite frankly, they will hang labels on people when they have absolutely no idea what is going on. Remember, this is the group of people who still practice electroshock therapy, turn people into zombies with psychotropic drugs, and have one of the highest suicide rates for any profession.

I would sooner accept a diagnosis from a Bantu witch doctor than a psychiatrist.

Now, there ARE people with mental illnesses, and there are some severely autistic people who cannot learn simply because they cannot concentrate on anything for more than a microsecond.

However, I am willing to bet that if you told yourself, "I can do that," you would be able to "do that" at least as often as your siblings.

Set goals for yourself. And take those "labels" and insert the into your mental shredder!

Don't think you're by yourself in that house! ;-)

There seems to be an epidemic of cases of bipolar in the usa and uk.

If you want to read something very interesting, read about Drs. Warren and Marshall being awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology, after they showed that bacteria--not stress--was the cause of most stomach ulcers.

When they first proposed their hypothesis, they were opposed by many in the medical community, but especially the pharmaceutical companies, which had been making billions of dollars selling antacid medicines to ulcer sufferers.

The culprits for ulcers are the bacteria known as Helicobacter pylori. They slip in under the gastric mucus, and begin their work of eating stomach tissue, resulting in an ulcer. They are difficult to see, not subject to the usual staining methods for highlighting bacteria, and many people do not develop antibodies to them. If untreated, the ulcers they cause can lead to stomach cancer.

Just think--for years people with ulcers were given antacids and told to reduce stress, when it was bacteria causing the ulcers all along!

I gave until I couldn't give any more.

A good relationship makes you feel good about yourself.

A bad relationship makes you doubt yourself and feel bad.

I have seen women stay in relationships that were bad because they were "reluctant to change."

These women were miserable.

Your favorite horror movies?

I was just thinking that if the USA replaced lethal injection with "death by woodchipper," the murder rate would most likely drop precipitously!

Not that I'm so much in favor of the death penalty any more--at least not until I read about a really heinous crime.
