I'm about to start a new job at a Preschool,

I know, I know, that sounds super boring! (Or really rewarding, depending on what type of person you are)

The thing is, my end goal is to be an Elementary teacher. And right now I'm just hurting for a job. But I am looking forward to learning as much as I can and getting more comfortable around the little ones.

Anyway - I would really love some advice for getting the most out of it that I can.

I'd just say to try to interact with the kids as much as possible. Maybe show up with some crafts they can do or something like that so they warm up to you. Bring a pet with you one day for them to play with or whatever you can think of. Get outside the box of just being an adult that's there to spoil their fun. Get down on the floor with them and be a kid.

That's what I did when my children were small and all the neighbor kids loved me. They always wanted to spend the night at our house because my kids daddy was cool and let them do stuff they didn't normally get to do. I still remember hearing one of the kids say everyone wanted to be at our house because I was just like a kid too.

Help me with:

I need help.

Congratulations!
You will be a natural. Don't force the interaction with the children. I am sure they will be nervous too. Just get to know the children's abilities and support them as best as you can.

It is definitely a rewarding job. :)

Just be yourself, treat the kids all the same (no favorites!), and they will love you. I loved teaching kindergarten- it’s rewarding!

Do you teach currently? If so, for how long? And were you nervous when you started? Thank you for the advice :)

I taught last year, for exactly a school year. I was super nervous! There were ups and downs, but overall it was rewarding.

A teacher never stops being a student. That is, never miss an opportunity to further your education. Start saving your pennies now. They will come in very handy later.
