Are you feeling lonely?

I’ve been alone since March. Well - except for the cats. I haven’t seen anyone because of COVID-19.

It’s nice to have some alone time but it’s lonely too. Idk when my husband is coming back. It’s like problem after problem for him at work in NY right now.

I’m just wondering how many of us are by ourselves right now.

Yes. It is tough. I want to be able to hang out with my girlfriend again. We both live with our respective parents though, so it is risky.

When i got covid i was initially kind of happy because i thought after i was over it i would be immune. Now i am over it an people aren't so sure you are immune, or how long immunity lasts.

I love my alone time.
I get to bicycle without any traffic.
I get to work on my album. I get to work on everything that needs work.
Being so busy I dont even think of lonliness.
I gave up on being a couple a long time ago and I couldnt have made a better choice.
You wake up one day and say to yourself its not worth losing anymore time making a gal happy.
Forget it. All the 1000 of dollars wasted.
So now its my time.
I live it

I have been house bound since 2017. I hvae been almost entirely bedbound since 2018. My visitors are my carers. I love my carers. They are my world :) they kee me going. Before i relapsed i was truely lonely i shouldnt go into it too much. All i can say is its not as bad for me now as it used to be.

Skype is gud for those who can use it. Kept me going for a long time. Me and my partnre would both eat breakfast over skype on.

I have even played connect 4 ver a skype and chess. Its hard playing games oer sype i must say with getting the nagles right but its lots of fun and it can be done

Have you ever heard of the game Taboo? I played over zoom with my gf's family just now. It was a little awkward because we couldn't really check eachother to make sure they weren't hitting the taboo words but we used this site and just did the honor system:

well as for completely shut in.. nah not happening with me. im particularly a essential worker. but i'll say if i was cut off from work and with no way of working - as a single guy living alone with a big place.. i dunno i'd probably get busy doing all the home improvements or .. lying around like a slob trashing my home as an excited pig in mud slop.

im just glad im still working not in the dreaded mud slop.. so i got no time to wonder if im feeling alone.. although - in fact i'm technically " home alone " when i get back from work..

yes im sick of this national/state quarantine measure: its overkill.

@Lano yeah, I get that 100%. It looks like things are starting to open back up in my state, but I’m still cautious (as we should be). Lots of depressed people out there - even introverted people want to be around others now and then. I’m thankful for FaceTime and other apps that make this time a little bit easier.

@Jetmoo - Skype is a good suggestion! I’ve been using FaceTime, Zoom, & Houseparty. I really like Houseparty best because we can play games on that as well 😊

@Yorick - I’m not “essential” but I have been coming into work because we have very few employees (less than 10) that come into the office. A good percentage work from home anyways.

I alternate between being a slob and cleaning the house from top to bottom lol. It’s very clean right now.

I know 😔 Mother’s Day must be particularly difficult for you. I’m sorry - I saw my mommy for the first time in 2 months and being away from her for that long was difficult. For you, since she has passed, it is infinitely harder. I’m so sorry for your loss.
