I always had the greatest respect for our rescue workers.

I just...I want them to have some degree of intelligence and professionalism. I don't want to see them acting like idiots. These are supposed to be some of the most passionate people, the most passion anyone can have while doing their job. I want that kind of person filling our most important jobs. Someone I can look up to. Someone I can respect.

Not the ABSOLUTE,(words can't emphasize enough) STUPID, FOOLISH, dare I say RETARDED BACKWARD IDIOTS THAT CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO TURN A LIGHT SWITCH ON(literally) calling the important shots!

:(

(can we use curse words here? o.O)

What happened for you to change your mind?
Are you judging all firefighters from coast to coast on just the actions of just one or two?

I am experiencing an impression based on observation that they are getting worse not better. In the last half decade alone I've personally witnessed them screwing up the most basic things you'd think they'd know how to do. Firemen not managing to turn on a hose somehow, driving an emergency vehicle recklessly and with no lights on. Getting lost and showing up late to emergencies.

Just really very basic stuff you'd think a professional in this line of work would have covered that I've seen leave buildings burnt nearly to the ground that could have been saved sooner. lives ended because they got lost on the way to the scene. Nearly involved in accidents with them because they're retarded and drive around without their lights on at high speeds and through intersections. I've seen them do some really stupid things that they shouldn't do and far too many times to be a fluke by now.

So no I absolutely can't judge them all but the ones I've seen around here seem pretty darn dumb yah!

Until the ambulance driver at the gas station asks you to piss in a cup for them because they won't be able to pass their drug test they're on their way to take...

(honest no joke it happened)

I think that's hard to respect considering their role and what their job is.

The whole idea of what they do is noble and if lives do get saved I'm certainly glad they're there. But I just wish the ones I've seen in the too many numbers would have Thought a little before they leap into a job where your decisions can literally be life or death.

People aren't perfect no doubt. But for one person to see it as frequently as I have can't be a good indication.

Maybe ignoring the rules means better results I don't know. But it sure pisses me off is all. :p

Not trying to rail on them just really never thought I'd see some of the crazy things I've seen is all!

I still fail to see how these few incidents lead one to conclude that they all deserve to be thrown under the bus. They perform more acts of heroism than one cares to count yet those incidents are very much under reported. One 4 month old saved more than makes up for 2, "pee in a cup" requests.

My brother is a firefighter, and honestly- one of the โ€œbestโ€ people I know. He works hard to maintain his physique, heโ€™s passionate about the job, and is an overall very respectable man- and he speaks highly of his team.

It may depend on the area, city, etc. Some places pay more, and thus have higher standards that must be adhered to, regulations, etc.

I knew there were a few more ways to like you Rockster. My sincerest thanks to your brother for a valued job well done by he and his team.

Merry Christmas our little genius and family!
